POR to MK for early ps???

I was just reading some info on Deb Wills' site and she mentioned that it was very difficult to get transportation from POR to any of the restaurants in the parks/resorts early. Has anyone experienced this first hand? We have a number of early morning ps' including an 8:10 am for Christmas morning at CRT!! If this is a problem perhaps I better reconsider a rental car OR how about a taxi? Are they easier to get and how much will it run us from POR to one of the resorts to get to our ps? I guess we would head to Contemporary to be on the safe side, if the monorail isn't running that early we could walk....help!!! Thank you!!

Last june we faced the same dilemma with early times, and CRT is a peice of cake (staying at POR). The buses to MK started very early for character breakfasts at the park. Chef Mickey's was a little more complicated, but we let our bus driver on the first MK run know what our problem was and she drove us to the Contemporary after dropping everyone off at the MK. Politely let the transportation CM's know what you need and they will bend over backwards to get you there in time for your PS. Have fun!!!

On typical mornings, buses start running for breakfasts around 7:00am. Christmas morning might be a little different, since park hours will be different then as well. I will advise you to make sure to get to the Magic Kingdom early for that PS, as the MK will be crowded, even at an early hour.

There isn't a problem making early PS's at the parks. But to get from resort to resort for early breakfast (say POR to BC) on Disney transportation will usually require changing buses at a park and thus take a lot more time. Once in a while you will find that a bus driver who will drop you off at BC either on his way to or from his breakfast route but that can't be counted on.

I wouldn't worry about your CRT breakfast. Disney will get you there. A rental car or a taxi will only get you to the TTC. You would still have to take the resort monorail over to the MK. At that hour, that's the only thing that will be running to MK from the TTC. And remember it's not a tragedy if you are late. It happens to folks all the time. You'll still get to eat.

Okay, so I think I have this straight...ps for the parks are usually not too much of a problem going from resorts, in this case POR, to the parks BUT if we are dining at, oh say, 1900 Park Fare in the GF we will have more changes and should alot even more time than we would if we are going to the parks. I was planning on giving us at least one hour to get to any of our ps'. So far here is the time frame for ps', 12/22, Princess Storybook breakfast 8:30 am, 12/23 1900 Park Fare breakfast 8:50 am and then the early one 12/25 CRT at 8:10 am. It was the last two-top according to the person booking and I couldn't pass up breakfast on Christmas morning at the castle. We only plan to be in MK until about 10:30-11 am as we will be leaving that afternoon and have to get it all together:-( We will probably hang out until we cannot take it anymore and then just head over to Downtown Disney OR simply hang out at some of the resorts depending on the feedback I get about crowds. Will we be okay with these ps' ? I really do not want to spend the extra $$ on a rental car unless this looks impossible. Thank you so much!!!

You'll be fine, don't worry about it at all.

As long as you understand that this will be a very busy time for the parks and transportation, and make sure to allow plenty of time, you will have no trouble at all. And by the sounds of it, you know what you're doing.
