POR Standard View

Can anyone tell me some info about what exactly a standard view room is at POR's Magnolia Bend room??

And also, do you enter these rooms from the inside or outside?

Basically you'll either get a view of the beautiful grounds or the not so beautiful parking lot. When you get there, ask for a view of the grounds and see what they can do for you.

The grounds are beautiful. We always try to get a room facing the grounds at Acadian House. It overlooks a nice big fountain and pretty foliage. Nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing that. Magnolia Terrace is very nice as well. As soon as I can I'll post pics of the view during our '06 trip to give you a better idea.

The room entrances for Magnolia Bend are all from the outside. This is wonderful as you have no hallways for screaming families to run down. you also find that many people sit outside their rooms and just enjoy the view and people watch. It makes for great conversation.

We were in room 8018 last Sept. -- it's a standard view of the parking lot. Honestly, we kept our blinds closed 100% of the time for privacy since people were constantly walking by. There was a small courtyard right surrounded by a high hedge that separated our room from the actual PL. A huge brown rabbit was outside our door every morning but one -- I guess he lived in the hedge. Didn't really seem too worried about people. We watched him a lot!!

DD and I walked around the corner and sat by the fountain a couple of times, and took several strolls by the river.

Sorry, I haven't forgotten about the pics MommyBuzz909, I'm just having a hard time finding them. My photo library has not only our pics, but allot of my fathers from Disney as well. I would post his, but he's horrible with a camera or any technology for that matter.

My DH & I got married at WDW this past December, and my mom stayed at POR the week of our wedding. She had a standard view room in Parterre Place and it had a really nice view of the courtyard. I stayed with her the night before my wedding and was really impressed with POR. Such a nice resort for the price! Be sure to have in noted on your reservation that you would like a view of the courtyard... it doesn't guarantee that you won't have a parking lot view, but I'm sure it helps.

All rooms at all of the moderate resorts are entered from the outside. Last year we didn't open our curtains at all on our trip! We got dressed and left in the morning then didn't come back till late at night! I'm glad we didn't pay for water view..we never would have seen it anyway!
