For a family of 4 (girl age 6 and boy age 8) what do you think is better?

Port Orleans Riverside in a royal room
vs
Caribbean Beach Resort in a Preferred room.

I would save about $350 (over a 10 night trip) staying at CBR?

Opinions?

We have stayed at both and even without the savings, we will always choose CBR. And I would even suggest staying Standard at CBR to save even more $$, if that's even an option.

With the age your kids are and 10 days ... I think they would really enjoy the pool at CBR. :thumbsup2

All the new dining options would be a plus for me.

I would go with the CBR preferred room. We just did a POR Royal Room, bringing my nephew to Disney for the first time this past November. The room is pretty much on par with everything else in the moderate class with prince/princess theming and a headboard that has a button-activated fireworks light show. It was a bit far from the main building too. For my wife and I, it wasn't really worth the price differential from a regular room. CBR will likely be more crowded, but the room closer to the action may be more desirable.

POR has 500 more rooms than CBR, is more popular than CBR so will most likely be more crowded than CBR.

I would also say CBR. The pool there is great for the age of your children and the preferred rooms are more convenient than the RRs, IMO. Plus, saving $$$. Bonus!

When we stayed at CBR, it seemed like there were more concentrated crowds of people. It was more than likely due to the construction, so hopefully, that's been alleviated now.
