POR Royal Room - I want to squeeze

I booked POR for 3-nights/pre-cruise park visit. I really, really want to stay in a Royal room. The problem is there is 5 of us. My three girls are small and will comfortably fit in a queen size bed. If I call, will they let me squeeze five in here?

No they will not.

Agree with PP.
If you have an infant they will allow it but if not then no they will not.
You can still stay at POR but just not in a RR.

Nope it is not allowed. Not unless one of the girls is 2 or younger. It is not even a possibility they will allow it, so you need to look at your next choice.

:sad1: I'm guessing we'll be in the Alligator Bayou. I'm sure we'll still love it! I just really wanted the fireworks.

Even as a 30 year old I did love the fireworks HOWEVER they are not what makes the RR in my opinion anyways so if that is what is driving your desire to stay in a RR then it's not worth it.

I've stayed at POR with 5 people in a mansion room with a cot even though we asked for a room in AB section. I guess there are exceptions to every rule.

That was most likely a screw up on their part--they gave away all the rooms that could fit you, so instead of walking you to another resort they gave you a cot. The fire code has to do with a bunch of things, and it did no harm to give you a cot. But they don't want to let the rooms be booked that way, so they don't.

If it is any consolation, the headboard fireworks only last a few seconds. We pushed the button for them to light up maybe three times during our stay. You can't watch them from in bed (they are above and behind you). So you have to be up sitting on the bed or standing. It is pretty, but it isn't critical to a happy stay in POR. The AB preferred rooms are cute and very convenient to the food court/buses/main pool. We enjoy them every bit as much as the RRs.

Enjoy POR! It is a wonderful moderate!

In my experience working in hotels, not all same-sized rooms are created equal in terms of occupancy restrictions via fire codes. So, the bolded sentence certainly could be true in this scenario.

For example: A room with an extra exit like a corner with an extra window might be rated differently than a standard room of the same size. Furniture also matters. So, removing a table and chairs might make it possible to legally use the rollaway bed.
