O.k....I have determined we want rooms in the magnolia bend area of POR for our march trip but questions are.....
Does anyone have photos of the rooms in magnolia terrace and oak manor....are these buildings the same with the same interior layout and furnishings??
I am sure I have seen photos of magnolia terrace but was thinking about requesting rooms in oak manor to be closer to the main building and bus stops.
I originally wanted building 85 but thought it was the last bus stop so maybe if we stay at 90 we can jump over to the main building and hit the first bus stop.....
We really liked the sinks and room furnishings at magnolia terrace.

any help?

I am interested in the same thing. We are booked in the mansions in March and I'm not sure which building to request. Hopefully, someone can give us some insight!!:goodvibes

We're just back from POR. We were in building #85 (Magnolia Terrace). We walked to the bus stop at the front most mornings but got off at "our" stop on the way home. We had absolutely no transportation problems at all. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for a bus at Epcot after evening EMH where we walked up as a bus was pulling away but other than that our longest wait was 7 minutes. We always had a seat too. Well, the kids and I did, DH often stood with the stroller. Honestly, the difference between 85 and 90 is not going to make a big difference. You may be just a little closer walk to the main bus stop at 90 but if you want to be closest to that stop, 15 or 14 in Aligator Bayou would be even closer. You are a little closer to the main bus stop at bldg 90 than in bldg 85 but you are further from the pool if that makes a difference to you. You are also further from the East Depot stop on the way home (and East Depot will be closer than the main stop). I'd say it was maybe a 5 minute walk for us from our room to the front.

I am working on getting pics off of my camera and uploaded now. I'll post room pics as soon as I have them uploaded.

Here are pics of our room (8565) from 12/18 - 12/24...

We always stay in building #85--usually room #8501 and we love it. It is convenient with two bus stops you can easily use. Enjoy

We will have a car so the bus stops aren't so important to us. Which locations would be closest to the food court or pool? Any suggestions would be welcome!

we stayed at magnolia terrace and we never had any problems with the buses. now the few times we used the first stop it was crowded, in fact we had to wait for the next bus twice, so we just stuck with our stop esp. since it was just a direct shot from our room. the whole manison side was lovely.

We requested Partierre Place or Oak Manor last November. We got Acadian House, which is the last mansion in the row.

The rooms looked identical to the pictures of Oak Manor that have been posted, and I never felt like I was too far from the Food Court/Restaurant area. It was just a short walk to a bridge that crossed right over. The grounds are so pretty that the walks are actually quite pleasant!

The hardest part was climbing all the stairs to our room at the end of the day!

Wow....great photos thanks for posting them. The room looks sparkling clean in the pictures.
I was under the impression that the rooms were different from Magnolia to Oak....I don't know why I thought they had different furnishings but ??
I really don't like the beds in Alligator Bayou so really hope to get the Mansion section.
Does anyone know if all the buildings are 2 stories?
We are a grand gathering so I hope to get rooms fairly close together.

Thanks for the replies.

We were in building #85 this past October. And once we figured out our way around, it was fine. I should add that I was a little mad that we couldn't stay in the Alligator Bayou section, so I was kind of hard to please.:guilty:

Anyway, I liked that the East Depot was so close. We just took the elevator down, and walked right out the back of the building to it. And the bus stop by the main building was last on the way to the parks, but first on the way from the parks. I only had to stand twice on the way to the parks, and that was going back at night for the fireworks. So I wouldn't waste my time walking to the front to catch the bus during the morning.

Part of the reason I chose POR for this trip was because of its gorgeous walkways. It is such a pretty resort, that I don't mind having a walk to the food court or to the gift shop. You really won't be close to everything if you choose to stay in the Mansion section. But don't let that stop you if that is section you prefer.

We stayed in the Mansions section in Sept. and
thought it was wonderful.
We were in Magnolia Terrace bldg.
This location was close to everything: the Main Pool, the quiet Pool and a short walk to Main bldgs. The Mansions are very nice.

The Whole POR resort is be very beautiful. I made all of our trip arrangments and My DH thought I plurged on a Deluxe Resort. We had only stayed at CSR on a previous trip.

We did walk around both sections and I can see how people could get
lost in the AB section because
the walkways seemed to meander everywhere (which fits the theme of that section perfectly).

One morning we even walked over to POFQ and spent the morning there
(it is a very nice resort also-and we will be staying there in 2008).

We mostly caught the bus at the stop that was close to our section because while we were there the Main bus stop was the last to be picked up and there were alot of people waiting.

We only caught the South Depot whenever we ate breakfast at the restaurant. We didn't experiance any transportation problems either.

Like I said before, we were just there 12/18 -12/24 and during that time period the stop by the main building was the first both to and from the parks. I had listed a request for mansions on our reservation. I had heard so many horrible complaints about transportation that I tried every day for 2 weeks to change to POFQ but couldn't without losing our discount code. We planned to ask to change at check in but our flight was late and we were STARVING so we just wanted to check in and get our dining credits so we could eat. We figured we'd ask to change later if need be. When we checked in I asked which bus station was the first to be picked up and then asked for a room as close as possible to that station. They had a room a little closer (like maybe 1 minute less of a walk) but the CM checking us in pointed out that the room we were in was very close to the last stop so we could have a shorter walk home at night. We decided that sounded like a good option. ;)

I guess the moral of the story is to ask about what bus stop is first when you check in because it seems to change from time to time. For us, the main stop was always first for every bus we took.
