POR Riverside questions

We are a family of five planning a week long vacation to the world. The only moderate that can fit us all in one room is the POR Riverside (Alligator Bayou). Can you tell me how far it is to the food courts, restaurant and buses from that location? And if you can give me any feedback about the week after thanksgiving (weather, crowds etc.). Thank you!!!!!!

The walk to the food court and restaurant is about 5-7 minutes. The bus stops are varying distances depending on which one you choose to go to. We always went to the one outside the main building after we stopped at the food court to fill our refillable mug.

It depends which AB building you end up in. There are some buildings just a matter of steps away from the food court/main building (Building 14 for example). We were in Building 27 which is between the pool and the food court. It was probably a 1 minute walk to the food court.

As the other posters have mentioned, it depends on your building. We were in AB14 and had a 1 minutes walk to the food court. Go here for a good map and photos..smjj

We are a family of 5 and we have stayed at POR twice, once right before Thanksgiving 2003 and once just a month ago for Spring Break. We didn't have any problems with crowds either time. In November there were days the kids could swim and days they couldn't. Overall it was a very pleasant time to visit WDW. We loved Spring Break too though. We love POR. Our first trip we stayed in bldg 24 which is quite far from the main bldg, but only a few steps from the bus stop. There are 4 bus stops around the resort. This past trip we stayed in bldg 16 and were fairly close to both the main bldg and the main bus stop. Our longest bus wait was over Spring Break for AK early EMH. Apparently the busses go to POFQ first and they all filled up before getting to POR that morning. Once I called Guest Services, they sent some extra busses. The normal wait time for a bus is 10 mins or less I'd say.
