POR Riverside...not what I expected although nice

Alligator Bayou building 14. It the closest building to the main building where the food court is. I saw a lot of cig butts, straws, paper plates, a food tray, a wire hanger, etc, etc. I moved to the mansion section (I planned on moving prior to trip just to see how different the rooms were) and it was cleaner there. I just don't understand how hard it can be to have someone pick up trash!

I'll have to agree wholeheartedly with DMRick (sigh)..... We stayed at Riverside in May 2001 and were disappointed in the overall "Disney experience/magic/theming". Now don't get me wrong - it was a nice resort - rooms were very clean - and my family had fun there. BUT you can get the same kind of "theming" in many of the Orlando OFF SITE resorts. And I think that was what DMRick was trying to convey. Staying at Riverside is very comparable to staying at an offsite resort - there is nothing there that shouts out "I'm at Disney!". My family didn't feel any different staying at Riverside (on property) than we do at Vistana (offsite) when we stay there (which is actually prettier & better landscaped than Riverside & you get much more room for your dollar). If you have a car & don't use the Disney transportation, then there is NO difference between Port Orleans & offsite. You can actually drive to the parks quicker than taking a bus from there. Now the All Stars make you feel like you're still at Disney, and so do the deluxes. But not Riverside (and I haven't been to any of the other moderates so can't comment on them....)
