POR - Requests?

What are some of the things you can request for the rooms at Port Orleans besides Alligator Bayou and/or Mansions?

Right now - all I have is non-smoking.

What exactly is a water view? Standard view? Any other things you should think of?

I have no earthly IDEA what you could reasonably request, so PLEASE help me!!!

We've stayed @ POR about 3 other times, but always stayed in the mansion section. When there I request,

1st floor (just easier after a day at the parks)
non-smoking
corner room or double window room (makes the room seem bigger)
room near main building (usually oak manor, parterre or magnolia bend)
(although I've heard oak manor is a smoking building so perhaps not for you!)
It can be a long walk back to the room if your not close to the main building, but it is a very pretty walk in any case!
room near quiet pool (may help with getting a decent view, other than a parking lot!)
request garden view (another help to not get a parking lot view).
when you arrive ask if you can have an upgrade to a waterview if available (you never know!)

When I just spoke with reservations this morning regarding our current trip plans, she said the reservations with requests are given special attention and they try to accommodate if at all possible, and the reservations with no requests may be more likely to end up with the parking lot views....

So call and add on some requests!

We've stayed in POR three times now...twice in AB and once in MB. We were in bldg 35 in AB and it was way in the back. Not a big deal though. In MB we were in Magnolia Terrace...pretty convenient to everything. Both of those were water view rooms. One was of a quiet pool in AB and the other of the river...but you had to outside the room on the walkway and you could see the river!
We stayed in AB in bldg 14 two weeks ago. Room 1408. It was wonderful. A corner room. Only issue we had was that it was right on the walkway to the main bus stop!! First floor, so we saw a lot of people coming and going! But, it was so close to the food court and bus stop. Bldg 15 is also close. I don't think I will ever pay for the water view again. Just not worth it. But, I would request bldg 14 or 15 in a shot.
