I would think you are unlikely to get it. POR is popular for families of 5 because it is the least expensive option. The rooms with the Murphy bed would go to those families first.
It's by request and is more of a may or may not thing. They reserve those rooms for parties of five or parties of five with a child under 3, so the only way you would get one of you aren't a party of five is if there are literally no families like that staying there through your dates.
If you book as a family of 5 you would get one. One time we booked two rooms as a family of 6 and I did request the trundle - we lucked out and rec'd it. But, my understanding was that I could request the room w/ a trundle but if a family of 5 in one room booked they would get it over us. Does that make sense?

True - if you book as a family of 5, you will be placed in one automatically. If you are not a family of 5, you should add it to your reservation as a request. FWIW, the bed is now called a murphy bed. They did away with the trundle style.
Yes, if you are not a family of 5 and want to be guaranteed a room with a murphy bed, you could book preferred because you will then be placed in AB. It is an upcharge, however.
