POR question

We will be staying at POR July 14th -July 18th. We have 3 adults and two children. All adults are on the larger side and we will also be having two ecv's with us. How squashed are we going to be in our room ? Didnt know if we would have enough room for two ecv's in the room and still have room to move. I was also thinking about bringing a twin airmattress to sleep on didnt know if there would be room for that too. I am starting to get really worried that there wont be enough room for all of us and all of our things.

Honestly I think you will be crowded. We have stayed at POR a couple of times and the rooms are a good size but I think with 3 adults and 2 kids and 2 ECV's it will be tight. And then you will have luggage and any packages you buy while staying there. Not to mention 5 people and one bath. Now we have always stayed in the Mansion's but I understand they put parties of 5 in the alligator Bayou so I don't know if those rooms will be larger.

I think you could do it but it will be tight. Would two rooms at the values be out of the question? That would give you an extra bathroom and some more space. Don't some of the value's have suites? ( I think that is what I read. We have never traveled with enough people to need a suite.) That might be an option to get more space.

You'll be crowded. We had two adults and two teenagers in a room in the Mansions and it was really tight in there. You'll get to know each other really, really well.

The cost would make it unaffordable to be able to do two rooms and I havent heard good things about all star either but who knows I might be getting bad info. We did try the one all star that has suites but none where available on our dates. Not to worried about luggage since we will have our van there since we are driving. We are doing 9 days in Pompano before we head to POR for our big trip. We wont really be spending time at the resort other than to sleep and maybe to swim.
It will be my my two kids ages 4 and 11 at the time both are on the small side and my parents both on the large size but not overly large.

Alligator Bayor has some rooms with a trundle bed under one of the double beds. I know the room we stayed at had one. It is rather small but a four year old may fit. The rooms have a small table and two chairs along with the beds. It will be crowded and hard to move with two EVCs. You will need at least some of your luggage in the room although I suppose you can put it in the drawers. I'm not sure you could fit a trundle bed in the room if two EVCs are in it.
As for the All Star Suites, it is less expensive to get two regular rooms or at least it was when I checked. I've not had any problems with the value resorts, but I'm only in the room to sleep usually.

I really can't see 5 people, 2 with ECV's fitting into POR. If you looked at suites at the values, then you realize 2 rooms at the values is cheaper. That would be the only real option, other than leaving the ECV's not in the room. I realize you're only in the room to sleep, but at some point you'll need to use the sinks and that is the only place to leave the ECV's so they won't be in the way. Do the ECV's belong to one of the room occupants, could they be stored in the vechile while not in use? A walker in the room would take up a lot of less space.

The photos below were taken in our room at POFQ last September. POFQ rooms are exactly the same size as those of its sister resort POR.

As you can see, for 3 adults, 2 kids and 2 ECVs its going to be real tight. Since there are 5 of you, you would have to be put in a room in the AB section of POR and provided a room with a trundle bed, but if you pull out the trundle bed there will be even less space for ECVs, luggage, shopping, etc.

I honestly think you would be a lot more comfortable if you got a second room. There are connecting rooms at POR so you can go back and forth between the rooms without having to go through the outside doors.

Oh my! We just got back last night from POR, Aligator Bayou, and I hate to be a negative nelly, but you are going to be VERY tight in one room with the ECVs. I honestly don't know where you'd park two of them when the trundle is pulled out at night.

I would seriously consider two connecting rooms at All Stars if cost is an issue. You'd have plenty of room there, plus an extra bathroom.

I stayed at POR several years ago and at that time I had trouble with steps and I was told that there were no accessable rooms - you had to go up at least a few steps to get into even the first floor rooms. If this is still true you could not get an ecv into the room could you? There were no elevators to the second floor room either. I think this is something you should check out.

I think your decision to get 2 rooms is good. You "could" fit 5 of you in an Aligator Bayou room, but you really would be climbing over the ECV's. If this is the only way you can go, then go for it. You could move the table into the bathroom area, park the ECV's there and then have room to all sleep.
