We are spending 5 nights at POR and I cannot find any good pictures of the main pool at POR. Does it have a slide or something fun to do for young kids? I saw the FQ has a cool slide. Can POR guests use the FQ pool?

It does have a water slide. I think I slightly prefer the pool at POR to the one at POFQ, but I'm pretty sure you can use both?

Another good source of pictures, maps and info about POR/POFQ is http://www.portorleans.org/
You could spend an hour or more going thru all the info there. And it's kept up-to-date.

You can visit either resort's pools, as they are sister resorts. You can also visit either food court, just to have a different entree. Both resorts are connected by a pleasant walking path, or you could take the boat. And the boat to Downtown Disney is one of the best perks in WDW. At POR there's the fishin' hole catch and release, and both resorts have playgrounds. In the evenings the horses and carriages come out and the kids like to see them. Yehaw Bob at POR River Roost is family fun. Eliot Dyson at POFQ is family fun, too, but perhaps for older kids. You can bring your food court food to the tables for the live entertainment. At POFQ they have the Mardi Gras beads everywhere (just ask) and during daytime I have seen a person hiding "doubloons" around the lobby fountain for kids to find. You'll get a newsletter when you check-in, for current activities.

Have fun at my personal favorite resorts!

The POR pool slide is really fun. The POFQ pool slide looks really cute but its slow and not exciting at all except for little kids IMHO.

There is also a POR specific thread on this board run by the same person who does the Unofficial POR/POFQ web site. Tons of good info. Be sure to read page 1
Another good web site for photos and video is Allears.net.

They are sister resorts, and pool hopping here is allowed. IMO POR has the better pool.

The POR pool was very nice. They had activities for the kids each afternoon. My kids were 10 and 12, so they didn't participate. I would say most kids were about 6 and under and were having a ball!
