We have ressies in October at POR. Can we use the pool at POFQ? It looks like a lot more fun for the kids.

Bumping up as I am interested as well... as I have a ressie in Oct. for PO-FQ and want to do the reverse.
Anyone?
Thanks,

I have read you can, since they are sister resorts. But don't know that for certain from any personal experience.
BUT looking at my POR info from the end of May, it lists Ol' Man Island as "...reserved for the exclusive use of Disney's Port Orleans Resort guests."
This may just be because FQ was not opening up until the last night of our stay.
Hopefully someone else will not confuse you, like I did. ;)

Yes, you can always pool hop between sister resorts. You won't have any problems. They could ask to see your resort ID (although it's not very common at PO), and when they see that you're at a sister resort, it won't be a problem.

We stayed at POFQ and went over to Ol Man Island all of the time. This was back in 94, before the hotels merged. We have never had a problem, and they never asked for ID. We did walk from POFQ with all of our swim stuff on, so they probaly thought we were staying at one of the hotels.

Stayed at POR and on the last day, took the boat shuttle to POFQ to try the dragon slide the kids heard about.

The shuttle is great and runs from about 9 or 9:30 in the morning just between the 2 resorts.

Perfectly fine!

Have a magical time! We did! :bounce:

You can use both pools. We've stayed at both resorts and, as my DD gets older, she likes PO-R better. We're booked to go in late September and while PO-FQ remains my favorite resort, she lobbied hard for PO-R because of its pool and playground. She won.

We were excited to try the POFQ pool (we always stay at POR) because of the slide. My son was disappointed in both the pool and slide. It is a nice bike ride over though.

Since the two resorts are "sister" resorts you have privileges at both resorts. The slide at FQ is probably better for younger kids and the one at Riverside for older kids. Same is true of the playgrounds. The arcade at Riverside is also bigger. And, Riverside has a sit down restaurant in addition to the food court. But the food court at FQ is brand new so it might be nice to check it out.

My son loves the pool at FQ. He likes all the alligators that are hanging around, the clam that cascades water into the pool. There is a kiddie pool close by too, which is nice. But, he likes the slide better at Riverside.

By staying at one we get the best of both. It is rather nice.

Actually all the moderates have hot tubs. CBR, POFQ, POR and CSR. Coronado Springs has the largest hot tub on property!

There is a hot tub at PO - FQ, but it is removed from the main pool area. We were at CBR last summer and I never saw the hot tub area - but it very well may have been there. The hot tub at PO-R is right beside the main pool.

My kids enjoy the pool area at Riverside better than French Quarter - much better slide! I also feel that the pool at FQ is much more crowded - could be because it is the only pool onsite and Riverside has 6 quiet pools to absorb some of the crowd. The quiet pools at Riverside are open 24 hours a day too - for that VERY late night swim.;)
