Does either resort have elevators in any of their buildings?

Additionally, any pros, cons, room recommendations, restaurants, etc. of staying at either resort will be appreciated.pirate: pixiedust:

POFQ has elevators in every build, POR has elevators in the Mansion only. Alligator B does not have any elevators and the building are only 2 stories.

POFQ is our favorite any building is good as the resort is so small, no more than 5 minutes walk to anything there. Build 3 is our favorite building and is to the right of the main building. Has Beginets in food court. Great

POR is very large and has 4 bus stops. Allig B good buildings are 14 and 15. Mansion building Magnolia Bend is the closest. POR has a much large store, food court a great sit down restaurant, entertainment Bob the Piano man. Several small pools and the main pool area is ol man island, boat and bike rentals. Also POR Alligator B will sleep 5 in room. It has a trundle bed.

Both are great resorts and have the boat to Downtown Disney.

That pretty much covered all of the resorts and very well too! :)

We prefer FQ (although had a great stay at POR-AB in building 14).

Find FQ smaller, more managable and very quaint. Not a bad location at all. It is a lovely walk to any room and a really nice walk over to POR (not on a cold December night tho!). :)

Favorite buildings, not in any order: 4 for courtyard view, 5 for river view, 6 for river view and garden views, short walk to POR for Boatwrights.

Elliot (sax player) at Scat Cats Lounge is more low key than Bob the Piano Man at POR ~ both great in their own way.

It's really such a personal choice, so go with the one that draws you more.

Have a great trip!!

We like both. Have stayed at both. Are there kids in your party? If younger kids then POFQ would be a better choice. The pool is "magical" to the younger kids (7 and under) the alligators along the sidewalk to the pool are fascinating to them. The resort is smaller and much more naviagable than POR. The playground is better suited to younger kids. POFQ does not have a sit down restaurant. It has a food court, though. We prefer the food court at POR better than POFQ but that is opinion. Both are fine.

POR is larger and alot more spread out. The pool is for "older" kids and the playground is designed that way. I think they still have the fishing hole for kids to fish (for a price) which is fun. They use Huck Finn Poles, etc. The gift shop is larger and has a bigger variety than POfQ but both are adequate. POR has a sit down restaurant which is good. We didn't think it was anything special but it was nice. You can read about it on the restaurant forum if you do a search. You rent bikes, boats, etc. at POR even if you are staying at POFQ so that can be a plus if you plan to do this.

We like the entertainment at both lounges. They are so different and it is fun to see both of them.

Both resorts are nice. They are sister resorts so you can use the pool, etc. at both. It depends on what you are looking for at the resort. And, it also depends on who you are traveling with .....

I loved POFQ . I have not stayed at POR. I loved the size of POFQ, the themeing, the bus transportation, and I thought the Food Court was very good. There is really no bad building at POFQ. We were in Building 5 and were very happy.

The amenities were well stated above but I want to add one thing. If you are not very mobile as in able to walk long distances. And like walking a lot. You should seriously consider POFQ. As POR is very large and if you are unlucky like were and get stuck on the far side of bldg 36 you will be very unhappy walking to the food court area. It is a very long walk each way. We liked POFQ a lot more due to the size alone.

We enjoyed POFQ better than POR. Mainly due to the layout of the property and the bus service.

I don't know if you plan on utilizing the buses, but they pick up and drop off at POFQ first most of the time. We really had no problem with the buses when we stayed at POFQ this past Feb. But, when we stayed at POR in Feb of 2006, the bus service was bad.

I also like that everything is a short distance away at FQ. But, it is still peaceful and quiet. I also like the rooms a little better.

POFQ does not have a full service restaurant like POR, but that did not matter to us.

I can honestly say that POFQ is one of the best on site resorts that we have stayed at so far!

I just got back from a POFQ stay, and there were a couple of times when the bus was jammed packed full by the time it got to the POR stops. The fact that the busses attend to POFQ patrons first was a big plus.

I stayed at POFQ last night. I am in Orlando for a business trip and flew down a day early (yesterday morning). I was in building 3, got a corner room above the parking lot. It was very easy to get to the main building. I was on the third floor and the elevator was pretty close to the room and the parking lot. Room was in pretty good shape.

Excellent to know! I'm currently booked at POR but may consider a move to POFQ. Quick bus service alone is enough to make me rethink my plan! Nothing is more frustrating than when you're ready to go and the bus is full and you have to wait while everyone gets cranky...
