I got an e-mail from Bob Jackson...Piano Man @ POR...

he stated that part of POR may be closing too but he heard they were keeping the lounge open BUT not sure if they were keeping him on stage....

If you are a fan of Bob....please e-mail these two people with short letters on Bob's behalf...in hopes that they will keep him on stage...

You can cut and paste the same letter to both people.

Help! My DH, DD, and myself will be staying at POR from June 30th - July 5th. When did "Piano man" say that it might be closing? If it does close, will WDW put us in another resort.

I am worried!

Sorry, did i misunderstand this post.

Is the resort possible closing or they just getting rid of the lounge entertainment?

Either way, that is going to be a bad thing. I love the Piano man.

What Bob mentioned in his letter was that POFQ was closing and PART of POR. (No dates of a possible POR closing.)

BUT they were keeping the POR lounge open but he was
unsure whether he would be kept on stage.

I have heard nothing about any closings at POR. Maybe Bob has the "heads up"...because if you all remember, after 9-11...Bob was taken off stage at POR due to low attendance.

There are several posts on the boards about POR closing. POFQ will be closing 5/2/03 for an undisclosed time frame for extensive (and I might add, overdue) renovations. Once they are done, Riverside will be next.

This post is intended for fans of Bob Jackson's to email the two people I mentioned in my original post on Bob's behalf....

There are other post out there with all kinds of "dates" and "what ifs" .

Oh, I hope they don't cancel Bob Jackson's show over there at PO-RS! My daughter and I love his show. I wrote to Disney before about Bob and I will gladly write to them again. If Bob can't perform his show at PO-RS during the renovations, hopefully they'll be able to move him to another location on WDW property. I am looking forward to my husband and son experiencing Bob's show for the first time during our upcoming vacation.

With the possiblity of "parts" of POR closing too...there is a chance Bob may be taken off stage....hence, the two emails in my original post that we should write to on Bob's behalf.

Remember post "9-11"...Bob WAS taken off stage due to low attendance.

An e-mail sent to those two people can only help Bob's situation.

If they get enough responses......they may not even consider cancelling Bob's show.

I've e-mailed a letter to both. We were just there an he truly added to our experience at the resort..... he can really get the crowd going. I have video of the audience doing the train (or something) all around the bar having a ball! Bob Jackson is great!

KingGoofy -- can you (or Bob or...) clarify about potential POR closures? I was planning on staying at POFQ in January, and will switch (gladly!) to POR. It seems from postings on these boards that refurbs are needed more at POR than at POFQ but FQ is the one being closed...

All I know about the possible "part of POR" closing is that is was mentioned in the Orlando Sentinal.

They said....(this is not a direct quote..but close) ...
"POFQ is closing for 2 years and sections of POR will be closing also. "

When Bob Jackson e-mailed me...(plus many..many other of his fans who gave Bob their e-mail address) he stated that part of POR was going under renovation too...BUT they were keeping the lounge open.

Earlier I had mentioned that maybe Bob had the "heads up" on part of POR closing....BUT it was mentioned in the Orlando Sentinal article.

I do not know which one of these threads actually has that article...but I did read it and they clearly state that part of POR was schedule for rehabbing as well.

Now, we are "scheduled" to arrive at POR on Aug. 15 to the 24th. We have family members that possibly may be meeting up with us on Aug. 20th to the 24th......when we heard of the situation, my wife suggested that we book the extra two rooms NOW for our family. Which we did. I am sure POR is going to be jam packed with all of the switching of the other guests who are being inconvenienced by the FQ closing and we did not want to be in one resort and our family in another.

We booked the extra rooms at $160 per night. But the CM mentioned that when the codes come out...(and they will ) then I should call back ASAP to have them applied to the "family's" reservations.

I know some of you have had CM's who give you the "run around" but this particular girl (her name was Dena) was very open and stated it was TRUE.....part of POR would be closing also. BUT, no exact dates were mentioned.

There are exact dates for FQ..but not POR. Who knows...POR may not start closing until 2004. ??? My opinion is, if you have reservations for POR in 2003 you are okay...but 2004 may be questionable.

I heard about Bob Jackson on these boards and our family caught his act on Wed, April 2nd. What a great show!!!!

I just sent an e-mail to both people you recommended asking to keep Bob on the payroll!!!
