Hi all,

We have our trip all booked for October at WL for 10 days (not entirely paid for yet). DH and I are taking our 3 year old twins and my parents (their nan and papa). Our package includes length of stay tix and dining at WL, as we have always wanted to stay there. However, I was on disney.com this am and noticed a HUGE price difference between WL and Port Orleans Riverside (2500 savings!!). My dh and I always stayed at POR prior to having our twins, but the last time was in 1998 when it was still Dixie Landings. Is the resort still the same in terms of cleanliness, service, etc???

We do have the money to pay for a deluxe resort, but I'm more on the frugal side and am having a hard time justifying the price difference. I had originally booked the Grand Floridian, then the Polynesian...I think I've called Disney 5 or 6 times to change dates, resorts, etc... I guess I just can't make up my mind. I guess my question is, what is the ACTUAL difference between the resorts? Honestly, as a child and through my teen years, I always stayed at CR or Poly and then at POR for my honeymoon. I thought it was just as nice. My biggest concern is cleanliness...I'm a CLEAN FREAK!!!! Planning on cleaning the room before my kids enter type of FREAK. Don't laugh.

Could someone offer any advice??? We'll be leaving in a couple of months, and I'm driving my dh out of his mind. :) :) Should I spend the extra 2500????

Thanks so much!

Interior corridors and all one building for the "hotel" portion at WL--possibly room service (may be limited--but supposedly all the deluxes have this)--a big huge comfy fireplace.

PORS--exterior corridors.

As far as cleanliness--within the past year we have stayed at WL and POFQ--cleanliness wise, didn't really see a difference. While WL is a deluxe--didn't notice anything special that made WL any cleaner than POFQ.

If you plan on cleaning the room--then that shouldn't really be a factor for you. IMO, both resorts are kept up pretty nicely.

With 2 kids 3 years old, needing naps I would stay at WL. It is far more convenient to MK.

DW and I have stayed at both over the years. Loved POR (dixie landings to me). After 4 stays at POR, we decided to try WL. We had a room on 4th floor at end of wing near boat dock. I could have thrown my slipper off balcony and hit boat captain on head. lol. One morning I heard what sounded like a faint hissing. When I went out to the balcony I could hear and see the gieser, spectacular and loud. I could walk down the stairs next to the room and be at the pool in 2 minutes. The boat to CR and MK was relaxing, I acctually looked forward to the trip! Either one is great, but I would go back to WL.
PS. We watched the electric water parade from our room, too cool.
