I know this has been done a million times but it never concerned me before.:rotfl: Boy that sounded selfish. Trying to choose for a "Mom and Dad" get away. If you'd like to share why that'd be great too;)

POFQ is great with kids. It is nice and small and easy to get around. We stayed there in Feb. and absolutely loved it. I chose POR in the poll because it is more "romantic". The grounds are very lush and beautiful. It is perfect for taking walks together or sitting on a bench near the Sassagoula River. It also has a table service restaurant and quiet pools. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and loved it. This year will be our tenth anniversary, so we are staying there in April (w/our daughter though). Both resorts are great, but I think POR is especially nice for a couple's trip!

I voted for the POFQ. The smaller size makes the resort a lot more manageable. It's very peaceful, and quaint. I just love the theme.

One more vote for POFQ. That's my fav mod resort.

POR ranks right up there with the deluxe resorts. it just has that feel to it. It is Romantic Boatwright's dining hall is great. I like the Mansions myself. you can stroll along or sit near the Sassgagula river. You can take the boats to DTD [of course you can from POFQ as well] and the carriage rides if you want. AND you can wander over to POFQ and take in the music in their lounge if you prefer it to the music at POR lounge.
If you are dependent on the busses though POFQ is better because they load first. but if you have your own car POR for sure.

CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. CSR offers some deluxe amenities for your stay. It also has it's own sit down restaurant which POFQ does not offer.

I voted FQ, but then I read this is for mom and dad only. So you might enjoy Riverside more. Riverside in Alligator Bayou is more secluded with beautiful scenery. FQ is more themed (more kid friendly IMHO). But there are also very nice walking paths in FQ. But to me Riverside would seem more romantic.

Benn to both. My two boys were wowed by everything at POFQ. They espically liked the pool. We've also been to CSr. They liked that one too but I still hear rave reviews for POFQ from them.

My vote is for our favorite, POFQ. We have stayed there 3 out of 5 times in the past 5 years. I agree with the idea that the themeing is teriffic! My DGDs have always loved the pool and the slide.
The resort is small and there are no bad buildings. It is a short walk from any of them to anywhere you want to go. We love the boat to DTD. And the buses are quick and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes at any time. We love that the POFQ is the first picked up and the first let off, so even if you have to stand on the return from a park, it is only for a little bit. The CMs and Mousekeeping are great! On our last stay, we got 5 different towel animals! Plus we like the free refrig.
The furnishings are very attractive and that makes for a pleasant stay!

Even though I love both resorts, I would choose POFQ mainly because of the bus system (especially if you are going during a high crowd period). You are the first to be picked up and dropped off. Also, we enjoy the smallness of POFQ, and if we what to eat at Boatwrights or PO foodcourt, it is just a short and enjoyable 15 minute walk along the Sassogoula River.

I think that the mansion section of POR is one of the most romantic spots in WDW. Its so beautiful. It was the first resort Dh and I stayed at. We've since stay at all but three or four of the other resorts (including POFQ) and will return to POR for our couples trip in October.

Another vote for other! CSR!!! You can get a couples masaage, take romantic walks around the lake at night when it is all lit up (see buzz's photos) and stop on the white sand beach to swing on the hammocks. CSR also offers a full menu room service with choc covered strawberries and champagne. The hot tub is awesome as well.

POR for a couple. DH and I are in our 50s :scared1: and just love this resort! We will be there for the 6th time in November!!

I've stayed at both (as I type this I'm at POFQ) and MUCH prefer the French Quarter. As many posters have said, it is a whole lot smaller with is wonderful. You can walk from one side to the other in 5 minutes. Every room is only a 2-3 minute walk from the dining hall, boat launch or busses. When we stayed at the Riverside, it was nice, BUT our room was so far away from the main building, we hardly ever went.

The one down side to FQ (or even Riverside for that matter) that I can share is the bus system. At least this week...it has been really crowded. Probably the free dining but it is pretty bad. I feel like I am staying at All Star or Pop. ;) some times.

Have fun.
