We have a POR royal room standard view room booked. Anyone have opinions on Oak Manor vs Parterre buildings? Looking to see if I should make a building request!

Tia!

Parterre is further from the main building so Oak would be my choice.

If you make a request, consider asking for what you want rather than worrying about specific buildings or rooms.

Last year, we faxed asking to be as close as possible to the main building. We were placed in Oak and were ~ 2 minutes away from everything. I think there are very good locations in Parterre, too.

We requested Oak because it seemed closer to the food court on the map. It is also significantly closer to the East Depot.

However, if being close to the food court is more important than being close to the bus station, then there are some front rooms in Parterre that are closer than some of the back rooms at Oak.

I agree that you might consider requesting "close to food court" or "close to East Depot" rather than Oak or Parterre. Both buildings are large and you could end up in a convenient or not-so-convenient location in either.

A few years back, I specifically requested Panterre Place close to the bridge. Why? Because Oak Manor is more often requested so I thought we'd have a better chance of our request being honored. Sure enough, we had a fantastic location, which was very close to the bridge from the main building. Note that we were not close to the theme pool, but we were steps away from a lovely quiet pool.

We loved the Princess rooms ... so many wonderful, magical touches. Enjoy!

We stayed in Oak Manor, last year and it was the perfect location! We had a garden view room so our room faced the big fountain where they play movies every night and the bridge to the main building was right next to our building. It was close and very nice!

Stayed in Oak Standard and we were lucky to be placed in "main" part of building right by pool, so no parking lot view, just courtyard. It was a quick walk to the Main Hub and South Depot which was great. It's a pretty walk by river and over bridge and usually the first pickup so we always got a seat on the bus. We tried East once and it was a walk through parking lots, then trees to then be the last picked up. At end of night we had already walked to our room from South by time the bus rolled around to the East Depot. I would pick as close to Main Hub as I could get if you are booking standard.

Magnolia bend would be the closest to all IMHO. We stayed here and this was ideal for everything. Oak manor is where the movies under the stars is at. The may sway your decision,. From what I remember though I believe there 're 2 bridges that cross, 1 by partierre and one by Magnolia bend.

I think this is great advice! :thumbsup2 We also had a great room in Parterre Place. it was really close to the footbridge leading to the lobby.

We requested Oak last year and got a room with a view of the paddle wheel. We loved it. We were right between the bridge to the bus stop and the bridge to Ol Man Isle...a short walk to either place. Partier is close to the bridge to the bus stop, but probably the biggest benefit to Partier and Oak is there proximty to the French Quarter since we always took the French Quarter busses from the parks in the evenings (due to the size of the line and wait for the Riverside busses) and just made the short wonderful stroll to Oak Manor. Partier is obviously slightly closer.

THIS!!

As others have said, Parterre is closest to POFQ if you plan to walk there at all. We also think Parterre is the nicest building aesthetically. Oak Manor is closer to the main pool. Both are equal distance to the bridge and bus stop for the most part, and also equal distance to the quiet pool in that area.
