POR mattresses - what make and model?

We are in the market for a new mattress set and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in was the bed at POR and POFQ (since the recent refurbishment). Does anyone know what make and model the mattresses are? I would love to be able to purchase the same (or similar) model. Thanks!

I believe they are Simmons brand. Unfortunately, they are what is known as "hotel grade" made specifically for hotels as a disposable bed made to last 6 mo. to a year and then be replaced. After a year they will start to break down.

what about "environmentality"? That seems awfully wasteful.

It might be that hygiene issues would come into play if a hotel kept a mattress longer thatn 6 months. I mean...think of how many different people use those mattresses in a 6 month period. I know its not environmentally the best idea to replace that often, but its just an idea that came to mind.

However...I am glad to hear that the mattresses in POFQ are that comfy...I think that's where we've finally settled on for our trip July 06.

Does anyone know if there is a comparable mattress for regular consumers?
