Can anyone give me any helpful info on this resort? We will be there in 12 days, and I have heard of people requesting certain buildings? This is our first stay and have no idea the size of these places and what the length of all the walks to the pools, bus stops are?

Where can we find that info out such as where the bus stops are at the resorts? Anything will be of help to us. Thanks.

Building 14 Bayou side is very close to bus, food, and pool. We had a standard room and made no requests (quite frankly, we didn't know we could), and got a great location. Good Luck, have a great time.

I never request rooms and I'm never disappointed. The resort is big, but there are shortcuts, and the walks are pleasent. Here's a map of the resort, have fun.

We have stayed on the both the mansion and bayou sides. We prefer the bayou side (in particular building 14) because of how close it is to the main building and the main bus stop. (Call us lazy but..usually after having walked miles and miles at the parks, we do not want to walk a mile to our room no matter how pleasant the pathway!) There is also a quiet pool fairly close by.

I have only stayed there once but we stayed at Alligator Bayou and loved it. It was really close to the main building and the bus stops. Couldn't ask for more.

I just got back yesterday from POR. We stayed 2 nights at POP and then 4 nights at POR. We have always stayed in Alligator Bayou but this time stayed in the Mansions (Acadian House). We checked in around noon (the resort was sold out) and all the rooms in AB were dirty or assigned. We took a clean room in the Mansions section rather than wait for a room in AB. Now I think I like the Mansions better. Just my personal taste. I think Buildings 14, 15, and 18 in AB are the most requested because they are the closest to the main building, food court, and main pool. My room was behind the main pool and over a walkway (just 5 more minutes away). The North Depot Bus Stop was just a 2 to 3 minute walk. The remodeled food court had reopened and was a great dining choice. They have a bakery section, a section selling chicken fingers, burger etc., a section serving pizza and create your own pasta, a carving station serving flank steak (my favorite @ $9.49) and turkey with sides, and a create your own salad station (another favorite). I really like this resort because it is so beautifully landscaped, quite and peaceful, and the amenities are great! The only drawback I found was the shared buses with French Quarter. It probably adds about 8 to 10 more minutes each time you get on the bus and they are more crowded. We are FL Residents and go to Disney 2-3 times a year and this is one of our favorite resorts. You will have a great stay no matter where you are assigned.

I have stayed at POR 2 yrs ago for the first time and I was really pleased. We stayed in Bldg 16, corner room on the ground floor. We had very short walk from the bus stop which was great if you have children. Also on of the things I like about the room was not only the trundle bed but the curtain that closed off the sink/bath area from the rest of the room. It was good because we had both girls and boys in the room (you know how that can be a challenge all by itself). But they were able to dress seperately without someone making a big fuss!

The resort is pretty spread out, but the trade off is that it's a beautifully landscaped and fairly peaceful place.

We stayed in Building 85 Magnolia Terrace and found it to be not too far to the bus stop and a nice stroll to the pool and main building/food court.
