POR Garden vs Preferred Room

Hi! We are planning to spend about a week at POR and Preferred prices $20 more than the Garden rooms. We are passholders and generally spend majority of the time at the resort (a quick park visit via buses and resort hop daily, but spend the evening at the resort staying at) during our vacation stays. Is it worth it to do Preferred? 5 night stay. Five people in our family, so murphy bed necessary!

Yes, I think that it is worth it. The preferred buildings are all conveniently located near dining, shops, main pool and boat to DS. POR is spread out so the walk to your room can be further than some people like for convenience to resort amenities. Booking preferred gives you the convenience of a small resort with a larger resort with lots of nice amenities.

Enjoy POR! It is one of our favourite moderates. (and may be our favourite, now that CSR is undergoing serious transformation!)

OK, if you are used to CBR, then you will have a good idea yourself of the situation. CBR is another resort where I usually recommend a preferred room for convenience.

POR has a different atmosphere from CBR, but it is very nice in its own right!

I'm going to go against the grain and say no, it's not worth it. You can book a room close to the food courts/shops without booking preferred and the walk isn't more than a minute or two further. I was in the Magnolia building in the plantation section, which I understand is not an option for 5 people, and it didn't take me 3 minutes to walk to the main building. There are bus stops located in all the sections so you are never far from one.

Yep, I'd definitely pay the extra for preferred, especially if you plan to spend a good chunk of time at the resort.
