My DBF and I are booking a Standard room at POR French Quarter tonight! Is there a specific building/section that I should specifically request? Thanks so much!! :)

We are staying there next week! From what I gather the resort is small enough that no room is too far from anything. Unless you want a river view or by the pool, you should be fine with any room. We didn't request a certain room, just that it be ready when we get there!

Depends on what you want/need. :confused3 Do you want something close to transportation? Close to the food court? Quiet? Close to the pool? Close to POR? Ground floor? Top floor? Near a DSA? Far away from a DSA?

I would go on the POFQ thread and look at the map and then decide what you are looking for.

As Minnie Mum stated, you didn't really give any criteria of what you were looking for. POFQ is a very small resort, so you are close to everything, it is what you want to be nearest or farthest away from.

POFQ is beautiful and you probably can't go wrong with any of the buildings. Like others have already said, it's a smaller resort and there isn't anything too out of the way.

I believe standard room categories are typically in buildings 1, 3, 4, and 7 - Building 2 only has one standard room out of all of its rooms so you probably won't end up there.

We stayed in building 5 when we were there, but there are no standard room categories in in bldg 5. Buildings 3 and 4 are very close to the main building. Buildings 1 and 7 are furthest away from the main building but still not over a 10 minute walk.

As for a request, it really depends on what exactly you're looking for. If you'd like to be closer to the bus stop, building 4 is the closest. The entire resort is fairly small but we absolutely LOVED it! Can't say enough good things about it and I hope you have a fantastic stay! We stayed at POR on our last visit and it just wasn't for us ---- POFQ is our fave. Booked there again for our fall trip this year!

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask or message me!

We always stay in building 5 and pay for standard room ( does that mean they upgrade us without me really knowing ) have stayed in building 5 for the last 3 years but yes resort is small so depends what u want ! We like to b close to the pool =) 45 days and we will be back at POFQ can't wait !!

You just might be getting an upgrade! Based on the room maps on the portorleans.org site, building 5 is mostly garden view rooms. Hmmmm, makes me wonder as well! :)

I booked standard and was put in building 5 on my last trip!

This coming trip, I requested buildings 4 or 5. THought those would be closest to lobby and transportation although I'm sure we'll be fine wherever we end up at that resort!

As others have said, it depends what is important to you. I was in Building 7 in April and thought it was perfect :) Close enough for an easy walk to POR where we had dinner one night, resort is small enough so pool, boat dock and main building were an easy walk, close to movie in courtyard, close to marshmallow roasting. We had a car, so didn't use transportation, but it would have been the same short walk to main building. We thought building 7 was quiet too. We requested third floor so no one above us since we are not early morning people. Got upgraded to river view corner room. Just really loved it!

I like Bldg 4. Two years ago I paid for a standard view room and then the next year I had to move up to a garden view in order to get the discount and we stayed in the EXACT SAME ROOM.
