Okay, so we just got back from POR and Loved Loved Loved it. In my opinion it beats all the mods'.
The food court there is excellent, with all of the make your own options (omelets, yogurt, cereal, salads, pasta) and the other items (sandwiches and the usuals).
So, we decided to visit WL because it interests me for our next trip plus we are interested in it for our next trip. However, when we went into the Roaring Fork, I was less than enthused, and immediately took it out of contention, it just didn't live up to what we just had at POR. I realize there are 2 excellent TS places there, but that is something we would only try once during the trip and use resort QS alot.
We are really interested in the BC, but now I'm worried if maybe all of the deluxes are more focused on the TS and less on the QS, so wondering if we should stick with POR (which would really be great too). But the BC may be still an excellent option because of Epcot and the Boardwalk however for quick food options.
How is BC's QS? Do they have one and is it any good? Can anyone relate or offer input?

BC QS is, in my opinion, very very limited. For breakfast we would get pastries/bagels as none the "prepared" hot meals appealed to us. We never even looked at it for lunch or dinner.

I think you are right...the moderates (and probably even the values) have a better selection than the CS at Deluxes. At CR, you get Contempo Cafe, which has good food, but not like the selection at POR/POFQ. At Poly, you get Captain Cooks, but same thing. I have also tried CS at GF, OKW, SSR, BC, etc.

And, as mentioned above, BC is very limited on CS. However, Beaches & Cream is a nice hybrid kind of place with CS type prices.

These are good points and I would consider the Poly. Contempo Cafe to me was not so hot, but okay --- (excluding their cupcake selection, which beats everywhere!)

Do you need a reservation at B%C and if so, is it hard to get into and/or a long wait?

The other thing I was thinking is that maybe a walk to the Dolphin wouldn't be that bad since I heard Picabu is a good place??

The Mara at AKV is really good as far as resort CSs go. I agree though that the POR has a great food court. :thumbsup2 If I recall, OKW doesn't have one which I found odd.

Looking forward to trying SSRs CS while we're at the THV this October.

OKW has two CS locations, but they are far from a "food court"...more like burgers and hot dogs.

Bc is very limited, far more thsn WL. Although you have choices nearby at the S/D, Boardwalk and Epcot.

Some deluxes are better than others, but none can rival a foodcourt. Por's is probably the best.

I will say that SSR's Artist Palette is excellent and they have a second cs over at the Paddock's new pool area. Also, if you are.in the Congress Park area, Wolfgang Puck Express is only about a ten minute walk.

For our family, good cs, right at our resort is a must. And we always missed that when we stayef deluxe with the exception of SSR.

Beaches and Cream does not take reservations because it is very small. The Marketplace is pleasant but not a food court by any means.

Artist Palette at SSR is a little different when it comes to counter service. Not your standard fare.

OKW has two counter service. Goods to Go was basically just the pool service area with that standard fare. You eat outside on a picnic table. Turtle Shack at Turtle Pond pool is seasonal and not open all the time.

None of the deluxe resorts have food courts like the moderates and value resorts. They usually have finer dining with table service, maybe even two table service dining facilities.

BW has a few dining locations on the boardwalk, but none really right in the resort except for the coffee shop.

I agree. Moderate and value resorts have better food selection at the food court than at the deluxe counter service. I think deluxe has at least two table service and that is probably why they don't need a big variety of food selection at a counter service. I actually find the value resorts the biggest varieties because it doesn't have a table service restaurant.

I love WL.. but Roaring Fork is less to be desired. There's really not much to choose from.

we stayed at the dolphin a few months ago and while I too had heard it was good, it wasnt that good, was quite pricey and I think had more limited hours.

value and moderate are the best for food courts in overall general options. You may find a standout item or two at deluxe, but noplace imho, that covers more than one base.

:goodvibes

The very best Mod food court is POR.

Second best is CBR.

CSR buffet breakfast for $15 is unbeatable.
