we plan on spending a lot of time at the hotel relaxing. How comfortable are the beds at POR (we stayed at Swan last year and were soo spoiled). Also after having stayed at a Hilton this past weekend with paper thin walls, it got me concerned. How are POR's rooms for quietness? Thanks!

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the POR.

Room was really quiet. The quietest of all Disney Resorts that we have stayed at.

Beds were comfortable.

I stayed at POR (Alligator Bayou section) last December. A very quiet time. However, we could hear the voices/TV in adjacent rooms and people in the hallways, up/down stairs etc.. One of the double beds is quite close to the door, and I was on that end of the bed. We put the fan on the a/c unit to drown out the sounds and it was fine. We were on bottom floor too, that may have contributed. Beds okay. I wouldn't say comfy but I wouldn't say uncomfortable either. It is a very relaxing complex, just doesn't feel chaotic..boat dock neat, restaurant had yummy pancakes, bus service excellent, lobby beautiful. If somewhere were to ask me about my experience I would be positive, but since you specifically ask about comfy beds and quiet rooms ...I answered honestly in those regards. There is another section in POR - the mansions not sure if they are any different. It appears all the moderates have the same room layouts.

In June, we never heard our neighbor's once even though the resort was sold out the weekend we were there. The beds were comfy too although I don't think they will compare to a heavenly bed which I think they have at the Dolphin and Swan. I think you will be pleased with the resort!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, just thinking about my comfy King bed from last trip to POR.............. had such good sleeps!

I am a night owl and always have a hard time falling asleep but I had zero trouble sleeping at POR. I am sure that the pace of commando touring went a long way towards tiring me out, but the beds were quite cozy and I slept like a rock every night. I have a heavenly pillowtop bed here at home, so I know comfy, lol. POR beds were really nice.

We hardly even knew we had neighbors at the resort. It felt very secluded. It was very quiet. I loved POR, I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We stayed twice at POR, both times on the first floor, different sections of the resort each time. We never heard a peep. The beds were very comfy, even the trundle was comfy. I slept on it a couple times to avoid the "space invader" (aka DD7, she has no concept of personal space when awake, even worse asleep). Now to put this all in perspective...after a full day at the parks every day, I could have slept on my head in the bathtub with a full marching band playing broadway tunes in the next room. ;)
We loved the overall relaxing feel of this resort, a ncie peaceful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the parks. Enjoy!

Very quiet in Magnolia Terrace and very comfortable beds too. The a/c was noisy, since it is a window unit.

We were at POR Alligator Bayou for 10 nights in Aug. One night, we heard our upstairs neighbors (jumping around?) and only once or twice, we had the background noise (it was faint) of someone's TV. But, that was it as far as noise goes for our whole stay. We thought that it was a pretty quiet resort! And, we hope to stay there again.

We are not used to double beds, but other than the size (which came as no surprise), the beds were comfortable. Dd used the trundle bed and said it was quite comfortable.

An aside on noise........one of my friends went to ASMu last month. Because of the free refills with the refillable mug, they let their 8 y.o. boy have tons of Coke. He had a major caffiene and sugar high in their room--doing cartwheels, bouncing all over the place, etc. And, he is a BIG boy for his age. Can you imagine being beneath them?! :earseek: When it comes to noise from neighbors, especially the ones above you, I think that it's luck of the draw regardless of where you stay with how much noise you'll get. The one night we had upstairs noise was when it sounded like a family with kids were letting the kids jump from the beds. That could happen at any resort.

My DH and I just came back from an October trip to POR. We had room 3752 in the Alligator Bayou section. It was absolutely the most quiet room I had ever had. We were upstairs and a short walk from the parking lot. The room was in a corner and we never even heard anyone walk by. We also wanted a quiet room for our trip this time. Also it overlooked a beautiful courtyard.

Mousekeeping came early and we usually had our room cleaned before 11:00am. :paw:

we were in AB our last visit, stayed in both bldg 17 and 14. THe beds were more comfortable in 17, which really surprised me, I thought they'd all be the same. Maybe they replaced those and haven't gotten to the other bldg yet. Not to say 14 was uncomfortable, just that 17 was more comfortable. Ds12 slept on the trundle and didn't complain, other then he wished it was a little longer.
