POR Campfire

Is there a special campfire at night at POR? Someone mentioned s'mores and singing. Thanks for the input!!!

I haven't heard of this at POR- Fort Wilderness has this with Chip and Dale and also a disney animated movie.

Could be wrong, but I think they were talked about FW!

I read a couple of days ago that there was a campfire at po riverside with the marshmellow smore roast scroll on down or do the search feature.

I was there in may last year and had read the same thing but no there was no camp fire at por, and when enquiring with a cast memeber i was told that it takes place at Fort Wilderness.

Found it! Campfire on de Bayou at Port Orleans Riverside

Being held Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, 6:30-8 p.m. (weather permitting). Enjoy the fun around a campfire on Ol' Man Island as you sing and eat s'mores (kits available for $5.25). Seating is very limited; make reservations by calling the resort or stopping by the Port Orleans Riverside Marina.

We did this in Dec of 2003, so my info may be a little dated. Kids were 8,7, and 3 at the time. It was fun. There were maybe 16-18 people total. No characters...just a couple of cast members that I'm guessing are part of the college program. They had songbooks of the old "on top of old smokey" type of songs. Then they organized the kids into a skit. They also read a book. We were surprised that it wasn't a Disney-type book...but Curduroy. anyway, We all had a good time, but we were very ready for it to be over when it was!lol. I would not set my itinerary around this. If you are staying at POR and can make it, then do it, but don't miss something else for this event. BTW, the smores were great...you just buy the kit before you go and it includes a few dowels for roasting the marshmallows, hershey bars, and graham crackers.
