POR Busses - be honest

We are considering upgrading our resort from Pop to POR. I understand POR has four bus stops so I am wondering if this makes things more of a complication. We will only be in the parks two days but we plan to be in the parks from rope drop to park close. Probably one of the most important things to me in a resort is their transportation. Tell me your opinions of POR's busses. Thanks!

I've stayed at Pop 5-6 times, and at POR 4 times. I just made the switch from Pop to POR for the first two nights of our May trip!
Yes, Pop has very good bus service. But, POR has pretty decent service. Not as good as Pop, but not a huge difference.
There are 4 stops. I usually just head to the main bus after stopping at the food court in the morning. Yes, the buses can get crowded. But I just love the feel of POR, so I just accept that the buses take a bit more time to make the loop and can be crowded at park opening and closing.

I've stayed at POR twice, 2 nights each time. Bus service was fine (comparable to what we've seen at the deluxes) except for one morning when we were at the third stop and waited over 40 minutes for an EPCOT bus on an EMH morning. Turns out that each time an EPCOT bus came, it completely filled at the first stop and then didn't bother going around the circuit, just went straight to EPCOT. I can't see any reason why, when that happens, they can't have the driver of the next bus skip stop 1, but they didn't do it that day. Boat ride to DTD is also really nice, but long (25 minutes once you're on the boat).

We've been to POR 3 times now and love it! Please don't read too much into the bus situation. I've been reading how horrible they are for a while now. In OUR experiences, we never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus to any park. Most of the time we waited 10 minutes or less. I have found that the buses are very crowded at times, but guess this is true of all resort buses. If I don't want to stand, we just wait for the next one, which doesn't take too long. So, I guess we don't have any complaints about the bus system at POR. Do I think it can be improved? Yes, I think all the bus systems at all the resorts could use more buses. So, don't let it scare you:)

Personally? Stopping at multiple bus stops drives me crazy. That's why I prefer Pop and AofA. If you don't mind that, then the actual wait times have never been too bad for me when I stayed there.

Thanks everyone! We decided to go ahead and book POR. Stopping at multiple bus stops might drive me crazy but we are only there for three nights so I think I can tolerate it. I have stayed at POR before and love the atmosphere and boat to DTD so at least I know I like that part!

Drives me nuts too!!! The thing that amazes me are those that say the bus service at CBR and CSR are wonderful because they don't 'share' with other resorts. BUT...they make many stops within the resort before heading to the parks!!! I don't see much difference between making 4 or 5 stops within your own resort or stopping at 2 or 3 other resorts that are close-by! My bus rides at SSR have been longer than my bus rides at BW.....and SSR goes to no other resorts!!!
I just figure in that addtl bus time at POR.....the atmosphere there makes up for the additional bus time.

We stayed POR our last trip by the end of our trip we just took POFQ or POR bus but we did not mind the walk from FQ. We did not stay until park close though. We found morning buses slower as we were in AB so the bus would be full be for it got to our stop.

I don't know if it's me or what, but I've been to POR 5 times and the buses were always over a half hour wait (May and October). I've just planned around that. I love POR too much to change to another resort. :)

I normally stay CBR and was spoiled with BLT last year. Tell me about POP if you don't mind? Sounds like they have excellent bus service? Why is that?

They only have one bus stop. So many people prefer that over a resort that has multiple bus stops. A quick one pick up and go.

There is only one bus stop and they don't share with other resorts, so once you get on the bus, you go. Also, because it's such a large resort, buses come more frequently. So if you miss a bus, another one is usually along within 5 to 10 minutes. At the end of the night, it's just as easy to jump on an AofA bus and walk over if there is no bus at Pop or if lines are long.
