Por, Bldg. 14 Or 27??

I have ressies at POR in November. I've never stayed at POR before but visited their main pool while staying at POFQ. I thought there was a building right by the main pool. I have requested Bldg. 27 but from reading the posts here, it sounds like Bldg. 14 might be closer. Any input would be appreciated.

BLGD 27:
5 minutes or less to food court..
less than 7 minutes to main bus stop

About 8 minutes or less to main pool....walk down a path ..over the brigde to Ole Man Island...

Just my 2cents... You may want to consider being near the food court/shop/registration area an d very short walk to main pool. That would be buildings, 14, 18 or 15. Building 14 used to be smoking I think. building 18 is great because you are right at a quiet pool. Get to the main pool early if you have any thought of a chair. We go during a busy season so that be an issue only then.

I was wondering the same thing. I had heard building 14 was the one to be in, so I called and requested it, but since then I have heard others say other buildings. I know that 14 is close to the foodcourt area, but how far is it from the main pool , a quiet pool and the bus stops. Being near the food court will be a good thing, and as long as one pool is close by, thats good too. I would however like to be close to a bus stop.

Sure 14 is right next to the food court and the main bus...
but 2 minutes away is bldg27 ....where u get more privacy..
more seclusion...less traffic-pedestrian congestion.....
to me 2 minutes is worth it..Are you reallly gonna notice the difference in wallking the extra 100feet....U walk like umteen miles when u are there anyways...right? whats an extra 2 minutes for the quiet area....

And by looking at the map...looks like 27 is much closer to the main pool....cause it has "its own" bridge right next to the bldg that goes right to the pool.....


If you want quiet.....go 27.....
If you are an umpatient, dont like to walk anymore than u have to....go fer 14...

I'll also have my grandchildren with me - 5, 9 & 10. Will Bldg. 27 be too far for them to walk alone to the game room, food court, etc.?

Like I said...Bldg 27 is literally 2 minutes from 14...
will they get lost within this 2 minutes?
prob not.. if you gave them directions to the game room from bldg 27 then you could just tell them to head towrds the water wheel... this is where the main bldg is....

The water wheel is highly visible from 27...

I would suggest building 14 if you want to be close to food court, game room. We stayed there with kids and it was great.

Building 14 used to be smoking I think.

I believe it was Bldg. 18 that was smoking optional, not 14. We stayed in 15 in 2002 and 14 in 2003. Enjoyed both but our room in 14 was badly in need of rehab (it is one of the most requested buildings because of it's location). ~~

Our last stay at PO-Riverside was in Building 27 and it was one of my favorites. We were close to the main pool and 5 minutes from the food court. Another favorite of our's is Building 18 - which has it's own quiet pool - but is a "smoking optional" building.

You'll love the secluded feel of the bayou buildings...ENJOY!!!
