We are arriving next week at POR. What buildings are the best to stay in? Are the rooms at AB any different than the ones at MB? Which building theme would you select (AB or MB)?

We are arriving next week also, first stay at POR. I requested AB, I thought those would appeal most to my 11 year old son. The mansion section rooms look more like grandma's bedroom to me, nothing that would appeal to a boy. Guess we'll see what we get.

We stayed at POR in June, AB Section bldg #14. We absolutely loved it. Before our trip I had requested a mansion, and did receive it when we got there. However, as we walked to the room (Partierrre Place), we noticed that we were on the far wing of the mansion and it would of been a hike to the marina, pool, busstop, food court, etc...and with 2 little ones there was no way I was going to do that, plus we had paid for a water view and we got nothing of the sorts, not even a glimpse of water anywhere. So 2 minutes after we put our luggage in, I called down to the desk and told them our situation. The CM that I talked to was very nice and accommodating. He understood our needs and made every effort possible to get us in the room that we needed. The room was in AB, and while walking there I was kind of disappointed until I saw how close we were to EVERYTHING. We were on the first floor and it was just a hop, skip, and jump away from the food court and everything else, plus the view from our window was the river with no tree obstructions. We plan on returning there again for our next trip (in 3 years) and I plan on requesting bldg #14 in the AB. On a side note, if you don't request a bldg that is close to everything in AB, I had noticed that there was a lot of bldgs that were far away from the amenities, it looked as if you wanted to go to the main area of the resort, you would have to jump onto a Disney bus and ride it around, unless you want to walk the walk, the resort is huge and it is spread out quite a bit....just wanted to have you keep that in mind. :goodvibes
