Hi there!

We just got back (one hour ago) from our stay at Disney 10-12 through 10-17.

We stayed at the POR-AB section.

We checked into POR on October 12th, 8 cast members were checking in guests. We waited under 10 minutes to be "checked in." For some reason or another our room was not ready. The check in CM gave us the resort card to call in one hour to check on the status of our room.

During that time we checked our luggage with bell services and went and sat in the bar area. My did the beer taste great after a long day of traveling from Omaha (by plane). After an hour our room was ready.

Our room was 3724. This was a corner room. Awesome. Loved it! Our building 37 was one of the ones that was farthest from the lobby. We didn't mind the walk though. It took us about 10 mintues to walk from our room to the food court and vice versa.

The Southern hospitality of all of the CM was great. All were so friendly!!!

After checking out our room (yep, loved the King bed) we called bell services for our luggage. Seems like we had not even hung up the phone and the cm was at the door with out luggage.

After unpacking we headed over to Boatright's. Good food.

Fast forward to Friday. We walked over to POFQ for breakfast. We really enjoyed walking past the mansions along the "river." Afterwards we took a bus to Downtown Disney (it was before 11 am) and then took the boat back to POR.

We ate dinner at the food court and then headed over to see Bob Jackson play. We loved Bob!!!!!

On Saturday we spent the day at Epcot and enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival. The walk to our room that night at POR was a little interesting. We had taken a cab and he dropped us off at the main entrance.

Sunday morning we ate Breakfast at the food court. It was quite busy at 10:30 am in the morning. Seemed like a lot of people slept in that morning!!

I was amazed at how many people were at the food court. Our room was so quiet. Felt like we were the only ones there (did hear our neighbors off and on). So I was amazed at how many people were actually at the resort when we at breakfast on Sunday morning.

What we loved about the resort
-Southern hospitality
-King bed room princess:
-Big resort but quiet in the area of the rooms
-Piano Man Bob Jackson
-Good food and Boatrights and the food court.

We'll be back!!!

Ooh, gotta love corner rooms! It is weird when you stroll through the quiet, seemingy empty resort, and find the food court full!

Just curious, what time were you checking in that your room wasn't ready? I had to wait till almost 5pm at FQ once!

Ooooh! Can't wait 'til January. We stayed there in 96 and loved it. We also felt like we were the only ones there. It was great! Glad you loved it. :sunny:

We loved POR Alligator Bayou when we stayed there in June! We also loved having a corner room- it made it feel bigger somehow. I'm so glad you had such a nice trip!

I love seeing a good report to counter a bad one. I am looking forward to staying at this resort and hope to be in AB rather than the mansions.

We fell in love with this particular resort as well. After our first trip to the World staying at OKW 2 bedroom villa, we didn't think we would ever settle for less. Happily, we were wrong. We've always stayed in the AB area as well, and love those corner rooms too.

We were also in Bldg. 37 last April and loved it. I was a little dismayed at first since it was so far out but we ended up loving that location. Very close to a quiet pool and laundry room and very quiet. The grounds are so lovely it is a pleasure to walk through them on the way to the main pool etc. We are staying at French Quarter next month, hope we like it as well!

I love hearing this too!
We are booked for our WDW in 2006 at POR in Alligator Bayou. It is so hard to decide on which moderate resort to pick when researching them all. I decided on POR-AB and booked it and am so happy to hear all this great stuff!
Glad to hear you had a magical vacation!
QUESTION: Do any corner rooms have 2 beds or do all corner rooms just have kings????
:lovestruc :teeth:

Question:Do the corner rooms all have King bed rooms or do some have double beds?

I was wondering about this myself.

While we were there I peeked into a couple of the corner rooms while we were walking by.

From a far away view I thought that I saw that some of the corner rooms had double beds.

The buildings at the POR-AB are not straight. They are like a bunch of legos or dominos put together. Thus with this confguration there are more than four corner rooms per building.
