Hi there!
We just got back (one hour ago) from our stay at Disney 10-12 through 10-17.
We stayed at the POR-AB section.
We checked into POR on October 12th, 8 cast members were checking in guests. We waited under 10 minutes to be "checked in." For some reason or another our room was not ready. The check in CM gave us the resort card to call in one hour to check on the status of our room.
During that time we checked our luggage with bell services and went and sat in the bar area. My did the beer taste great after a long day of traveling from Omaha (by plane). After an hour our room was ready.
Our room was 3724. This was a corner room. Awesome. Loved it! Our building 37 was one of the ones that was farthest from the lobby. We didn't mind the walk though. It took us about 10 mintues to walk from our room to the food court and vice versa.
The Southern hospitality of all of the CM was great. All were so friendly!!!
After checking out our room (yep, loved the King bed) we called bell services for our luggage. Seems like we had not even hung up the phone and the cm was at the door with out luggage.
After unpacking we headed over to Boatright's. Good food.
Fast forward to Friday. We walked over to POFQ for breakfast. We really enjoyed walking past the mansions along the "river." Afterwards we took a bus to Downtown Disney (it was before 11 am) and then took the boat back to POR.
We ate dinner at the food court and then headed over to see Bob Jackson play. We loved Bob!!!!!
On Saturday we spent the day at Epcot and enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival. The walk to our room that night at POR was a little interesting. We had taken a cab and he dropped us off at the main entrance.
Sunday morning we ate Breakfast at the food court. It was quite busy at 10:30 am in the morning. Seemed like a lot of people slept in that morning!!
I was amazed at how many people were at the food court. Our room was so quiet. Felt like we were the only ones there (did hear our neighbors off and on). So I was amazed at how many people were actually at the resort when we at breakfast on Sunday morning.
What we loved about the resort
-Southern hospitality
-King bed room
-Big resort but quiet in the area of the rooms
-Piano Man Bob Jackson
-Good food and Boatrights and the food court.
We'll be back!!!
