So I had a poptart today. A strawberry NO FROSTING one.
I buy those as those are the ones my mother bought.

I don't normally keep them in the houes. But recently rediscovered them.
The theory is that you buy what your mother used to buy. (My friend that eats the frosted ones always had those as a kid)

I don't think they had frosted ones when I was a kid..

I'm on a kick with cherry poptarts now. Those are my favorite. Definitely frosted. DDs like the hot fudge sundae and oreo ones.

For those who ate poptarts as kids in the 70s, do you remember the thick paper/foil packages? I hate the shiny silver bags they come in now!

Also, along the lines of unhealthy morning treats...remember Breakfast Squares? Bascially, a brownie for breakfast - yum!

When I was pregnant with my first, I would eat a pop-tart sundae almost on a daily basis. Two warm chocolate frosted poptarts topped with ice cream. Guess that explains the excessive amount of weight I gained.
Nineteen years later, I am still trying to take that weight off.

I haven't had a Poptart in years, but I used to eat them all of the time. On the rare occasion that I buy them for my kids, I buy the frosted (Brown Sugar Cinnamon). As a child, my mother bought the non-frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon. She would spread a thin layer of butter on top and it would melt into the crevices. Mmmmmmm....

Toaster Strudels are much better. My kids wouldn't touch a PopTart after they had the Toaster Strudel experience.

My kids are the opposite they won't touch a Toaster Strudel but love pop tarts.

We like the GV brand chocolate frosted chocolate pop tarts. They taste better than the Pop Tart brand.


My favorite is the UNFROSTED strawberry Pop Tart...I know, I am weird.

Frosted or unfrosted...it's all good.

But the VERY important question here is....raw or toasted!?!

For me....I made this up a long time ago to voice my opinion on this very important topic.

I always buy the frosted ones. My mom did buy them. But growing up, they were rare in my house. Now I have them all the time as they are a quick breakfast that I can eat cold at work.

I can't eat the unfrosted ones without them being toasted and having lots of butter on them. The seem drIer without the frosting.

I love those. But, I can't take them to work and eat them there.
