Hi I'm planning on proposing to my dgf our on our trip next month and I wanted advice on how to make the moment perfect. The WL is very special to us and I had an image of doing it somewhere along bay lake when wishes fireworks were going off. Is there somewhere between WL and FW that could be a good spot for this? Any other suggestions? I want to do something different than the typical in front of the castle. I want it private and perfect. I've actually been on these boards awhile but I had to create another login since my dgf comes on here every so often and I didn't want to ruin the surprize;)

Why not the little bridge in the lobby in the late evening when the lobby won't be as crowded - OR really early in the morning? I bet if you contacted the hotel manager they'd help you with something REALLY special. Maybe they could arrange with their in-room dining services a romantic breakfast for two really early in the morning (if you're a morning person) or the opposite - a late night dessert with champagne and strawberries. You might also want to contact Disney's photo services to capture the moment (if $$$ is not a problem).

I'm not sure if you can see the fireworks from MK anywhere from the WL (except if you're on the roof). Good luck! It's sure to be romantic and magical no matter what. You're in WDW!!!!!!!!

Just want to wish you luck!!!!!!! You could get married and have your honeymoon in WDW too! :teeth:

No suggestions for you (sorry!) but I wish you all the luck in the world. It will be, without a doubt, a wonderful proposal!!!

I would try and be the flag family.

Just think of how romantic looking all around from the roof. I think it would be a "unexpected" place & time, too. ;)

There is a website called www.yourfairytale.com. It has info on weddings and proposals.
There are phone numbers to call so everything will be picture perfect when you get down there. And a whole bunch of stories that might give you some great ideas!
Good LUCK!!! and Congrats!

How about proposing during a carriage ride at POR/POFQ?
Congratulations and good luck!

ziggy..
that link keeps getting me to

Is this right? or is something wrong...

I wish there was a way I could do it on the beach at the WL with the fireworks as a backdrop. Just cant remember if theres any spot along the coast there you can see the fireworks from.

I didnt know if the contemporary would block the fireworks or not?
it is in the way between WL and MK.

I know you can see fireworks from the poly beach.

When the family and I were there in December, we were able to see someone pop the question at breakfast. He had Mickey bring a box to her and in the box was the Minnie ears with the vail on it. On the ears he had written will you marry me on them. I thought it was such a clever idea.
Good luck. I know everyone here will want to know how it went, so keep us posted.

thanks for the suggestions. the website has me really excited. still not sure if I want to get others involved or keep it private. I'm just glad im getting to do it at WDW!

You can propose on the beach at the poly--guaranteed view of the fireworks!

Too bad it isn't winter--a proposal by that huge fireplace in the lobby would be AWESOME!

Also--gifts of a lifetime can help with a surprise proposal--even at the lodge--you need an exact date and about $300 or $400 in addition to the ring. It says they do it in the parks--but I am sure you can probably do it in the hotel as well--you have to fill out their questionairre in detail -- or call them directly if the date is soon.

From their www.giftsofalifetime.com website:

Friends of ours got engaged right in the entryway to Cinderella's Castle, now that's a way for a prince to propose to his princess! princess:

My DH proposed to me at the MK back in 2001.
It was a saturday night (during Spectro) and we had been in the park ever since landing in Orlando early that morning. I was tired and Grumpy and Sleepy and probably a few other dwarfs.

Well - Spectro was going on and he kept dragging towards the castle (ie - more crowds) I finally threw a fit and said "No - I need a coffee and a smoke!" (heheh) We stopped at Sleepy Hollow to get a coffee and have a smoke. (we could see the parade slightly from where we were.)

After DH was done with his cigarette, I thought he was leaning down to put it out, I look over at him and he's down on one knee with a ring box in his hand.

See - you don't have to spend a dime on anything super fancy...you don't have to plan it out to the hilt...you just have to do it when it feels right for YOU...no matter what, she'll remember it.

Jane and all her pixie's at Gifts of a Lifetime are awesome at planning proposals, birthdays, or any special Disney event! They don't even pay me to say that :teeth: I planned my proposal with them back in 2000 and couldn't of been happier! Does it cost some $$$ - of course it does...but it was one less thing for me to worry about (I was nervous enough already) and Jane took pictures of the actual proposal - those are priceless! Good luck!

Maybe one of the Fireworks cruises? Or how about ressies at that rest. at the top of the Contemporary during the FW. Of course you could always try and call someone at Disney and set up to be the 1st through the turnstile and propose as they do the countdown into the MK in the morning. You really can't go wrong at Disney good luck and remember there is always pixie dust so even if you think, "No way that is too far out there" you may get a great CM who hooks you up. Don't forget about Victoria and Alberts. Have fun and make sure to post when you get back.

I vote for a fireworks cruise for Wishes. The driver is there, but it is basically private if you are up front. We had such a wonderful time on our fireworks cruise, and the view of Wishes couldn't be beat.
