More people have recognized Jim from our posted pictures than me. I suspect it's the bright red beard (his, not mine ), and this time, he'll be easy to spot by the broken foot in the huge blue "boot". He'll also be sunburned to a crisp, especially on top of his head where there used to be a lot more hair!

Hi there!!!!
Well it looks as though we are all getting so so so so close to our trip that we can almost taste the Mickey bars. So I am wondering if we can start a list of tips and tricks to do right before we leave. It might be helpful to have a checklist AND you never know when someone is going to mention something you never thought of. AND this may help to prevent a DOH! moment.
So far I have been working on minimizing my paper trails. I started by highlighting all of the info that was useful and then getting into a more workable format. As I do that I get rid of all of the stuff that keeps piling up.
I also bought a really cute notebook from Target for like 2 bucks that has a spiral notbook (for my notes for a trip report) on one side and an accordian type filing system on the other. The whole thing is no bigger than an index card. So then what I did is I made a card for each day. Suggested park, times, any EMH hours and our ADR with conf. #. I also put in any tips for transportation. I plan on doing the same thing for my touring plans. Get them onto index cards and each day just take that days info with me to the parks. I also covered them with clear contact paper so if they get a bit wet, the ink will not bleed. I also did one for our hotel info and a list of important numbers.
Also, as I buy our ponchos, Tylenol or whatever I am putting them into a basket. That way everything is in one place and I don't have to hunt for it when I start packing.
BTW, Target has princess and Pooh stuff at their dollar spot. Fat pens (perfect for autographs) stickers, magnets, etc. They also have fat pens with Halloween designs on them. My son loved his!
Anyway, that's mine for now. Anyone else?

I need to mail a box down. I am going to put diapers, wipes, room decorations, snacks, disposable sippie cups, juice boxes, suntan lotion and ponchos in there. Oh and DS's glow sticks he likes to pass out !!

I thought about mailing in Monday (it has to be there by the 26th). Does this give it enough time ? Too much time ? I am still nervous I will show up and they won't have it.

While i surf the DIS i always keep my Microsoft 'NoteBook' minimized, so that when i come across a great tip, idea or the like, i just copy and paste. THEN i don't have to print out the entire thing!!

THEN when i have a whole days/weeks whatever notes down, i go ahead and copy and paste them into WORD files (organized as parks, dining or whatever) THEN i can print out a sheet of paper where i use the entire thing!

What works for me:


As much as i HATE thinking about AFTER VACAy, this is a tip that i LOVE!

DH andi purchased a Rubbermaid container and we keep it in the garage.
After each vacation we put stuff that ONLY goes to WDW in it.
Bike Lock (for the stroller)
Ponchos
Pal Mickey
Water bottle straps
backpack
etc...

We usually halfway fill the bin! it makes packing a lot easier and then we are not all CRAZY going when we can't find something or we don't forget anything that we need!!

Things not to be left at home:

Air freshener! Those rooms can seem pretty small when one member of your party is a bit stinky.
Disposable silverware for leftovers
Pop up hamper for the drinking I mean laundry! meets
Extra suitcase for souveniers (I pack one inside the other on the way down)
glow bracelets and necklaces from wal mart
off wipes (probably won't use, but it never hurts)
baby wipes in a small ziploc or carry along bag (those mickey bars get messy!)
ponchos (also won't use - a shower will feel good during those 90 degree days)
extra shoes
blister bandages and moleskin
Gallons of sunscreen
batteries
Maybe some smuggled liquor. Haven't decided yet
I'm also thinking of bringing bottled water with me if it doesn't put me over the luggage weight limit.

This year I'm prepared! It's already packed!

So how about shipping the water to myself? I looked up that green grocer place everyone talks about, but they charge 10 bucks for delivery. I guess the post office would charge about the same.

okay i am getting more and more excited...i'm just a bit nervous about driving!!

Im nervous about driving too - nervous Im going to get to about mid-Kentucky and think "Why in the hell did I do this again? WHY DIDNT I FLY!"

And then FOR SURE mid-Georgia, Im going to be thinking "WHY IN THE HELL DID I DO THIS?!? HOW FREAKING LONG IS THIS STATE?!?! MY GAWD!!! WHY ON EARTH DIDNT I FLY!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME! WHY DO I TELL MYSELF EVERYTIME - The drive isnt so bad! - IT IS!!!!"

Yeah - THATS what *I* am nervous about!

michelle - yeah - the air freshener is what we were kicking ourselves over last year.
This year I'm prepared! It's already packed!

So how about shipping the water to myself? I looked up that green grocer place everyone talks about, but they charge 10 bucks for delivery. I guess the post office would charge about the same.

POPpers, just wanted to throw a question out there.

Since we are amongst friends.

We all recieved PLANET HOLLYWOOD vouchers and since it is only ONE per ressie, many may not use theirs, BUT some others may not. SO here is where you can give yours away if you will not be using yours. We will be using ours, just not sure which date if you have one to give we would love it but for now we're looking at going for lunch on our off day that way we can check the place out!!!

GREAT ideas. I always love to hear what other people do since I have plenty of blond moments.
Michelle - the notbook is @ Target. I found it in the office supplies. Actually they were by the index cards and small notebooks. Best 2 bucks I have spent in a LONG time!
I also make sure to have the texi number on my important numbers list. You never know when you might want to beat the crowds and quickly!
