i remember flying SW last year and we were up at 12am printing out passes just to get the A pass :teeth:

Educate me? We are first time SW flyers.

I got my fridge and coffee maker sent to Pop from www.abbf.com . The fridge was only $65 for 9 days and then the coffee maker bumped it up to $80. It was alot easier than bringing a coffee maker on the plane or packing it. Plus the coffee pot is actually a thermal carafe and doesn't have a burner on the bottom - meaning if I accidently leave it on, nothing bad will happen! I've heard great reviews for these people and it's cheaper than getting a fridge from the resort!

Speaking of fridges...You know all those fridge swaps? I started the idea. And I can't even get into one!!!

When you check in with SW, they don't give you seat assignments. You get A, B or C boarding pass and then you just get on with the plane with the rest of the A's, B's or C's. Some people don't like getting C's because couples will take the window and isle and leave the middle open hoping that no one will sit there; as well as families trying to sit together. Last I knew you could check in online at midnight the day of departure, but from the sounds of it you can now check in online 24 hours prior...Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? But I can tell you that the flight attendents are EXTREMELY helpful in moving people and making people move - last time I flew the flight was full and a FA got on the speaker system and said something along the line of "All the seats are the same people - it's not like you're trying to find a pair of jeans that fit, just sit!" Needless to say the flight was hilarously funny!

I couldn't get into one either! So ABBF was the next best thing! Plus with the resort being full, I didn't want to chance not getting one!

Yes now you can check in 24 hours before your flight leaves. My flight is on Wednesday at 4 pm so starting at 4 pm today I can check in.

Also when we went in August we called a friend in Chicago to check us in on-line for our return trip and when we got to the airport we just reprinted our boarding passes.

Have to bring the change in...there's not too much...after I took out 2 tubes full of quarters/pennies and the singles for tips/mousekeeping. We've only been saving again since July - emptied it on last vacation.

I haven't been all the way through yet, so someone else may have posted this already, and I apologize if so....one good tip is that if you want a recipe book with how to make almost everything sold at the booths, check out the main festival headquarters (it's where they sell a lot of the wine - last year it was in one of the Innoventions buildings)...they have a F&W cookbook that's about $13 (or was, last year)! We use it ALL the time, and although it never tastes quite the same as at the World, it's as close as we can get at home! :cool1:

I am all over this!! I am gonna burn up my Weight Watchers point conversion chart when I get busy with this book! :teeth: Wonder how that will work out!

For those of us who popped at POP!!! Fantastic idea! :thumbsup2

HEY NOW! You guys with kids can actually read a book???? GEEZ! How awesome is that! The only reason I still know what a book is besides one with a cover of The Cat and the Hat or a Carebear or something silly on it is that I work at a college. :sad2: Guess I might have to get my tush across the quad to the library and see about checking out a book! :thumbsup2

SAFE TRIPS to all those traveling in the next few days. 3 days and 5 hours, I will be sneaking out the office back door! :cheer2: :cool1: :dance3:

Good morning, Poppers!

I'm most looking forward to --

DISing from my room at Pop instead of from my office! I have to do some work each morning (or I couldn't take my vacation at this time of the year), so I'll be on line anyway....

scrappingmom--I also got "The Devil Wears Prada" to read on the trip! I usually grab Danielle Steele's latest book, because I can read the entire thing on one flight, but I don't think she has a new one right now.

I haven't started packing yet, but my granddaughter says that she wants to help. I have her at my house from last night until tomorrow night, because somehow both of her parents ended up working the overnight shifts! DS is a 911 dispatcher and DDIL is an EMT. It's been a VERY long time since I had to help someone get ready for school, make sure homework is done, get to soccer practice, write notes to the teacher...WOW!! Now I know why the younger women have the children! ;)

My boss is out of the office today, so I'll have some time to get my packing list organized, to email my brother so that we can make arrangements to meet up during our second weekend, to call the hotel we're staying at on Friday night and arrange for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport, take us to the hotel, and return us to the airport on Saturday morning. We're taking the train to the airport, since the nearest train station is a 1-minute walk from my front door!

My countdown to leaving my office is at 2 days! I have one of the Live 365 Disney stations playing on my computer, and the final few pages of my huge mapping project to complete, and then I can just sit here and watch my countdown on Thursday afternoon!

And yes, Mr. FDNY, that was some fire department humor!

Wishing a safe trip to everyone traveling today, and I'll meet you down there on Saturday at the 9:30 meet (if not before, because there are so many of us we may be neighbors)!

'Morning Denise & Beth....

Denise - I only can read a book when I'm ignoring my children :smooth:

Beth - hahahah yeah I wonder that about "young" women too! Cause I sure wish I were younger, then I could maybe remember ha;f of the stuff my dd's need from me!!!!

Happy packing gals!

Good morning, poppers! Only 3 more workdays and 5 hours left until I can sneak out of work early and "start" vacation! hehehe! Both my bosses are sequestered in their offices with the doors shut, so I'm DISing and printing stuff off TGM. :thumbsup2 I have a list of stuff I need to print before I go...I guess I'll be assembling my trip planning notebook on the plane!

Book: Teresa Medeiros has a new romance out TODAY: The Vampire Who Loved Me. Yes, I read romance for fun, but only a select few authors who are just absolutely hilarious in their writing. So I'll be swinging by the bookstore on my way home. I promised DH I would save it until the plane ride. :rotfl: He knows I usually devour a new book in one night...I'm a fast reader.

I'm so glad we can bring liquid on the plane again. I was really wondering if I should take out my contacts and wear glasses, because my eyes always get so dry on a flight, but now I don't have to worry! I can bring my eye drops...hurray!

I guess I'd better get some work done, just in case someone comes to see what progress I've made today. :p

See y'all later! Everyone leaving today, have a safe trip! See you soon!

Me too! Had my first at 37 and my second a few weeks before my 39th birthday and I am soooooo TIRED and a little whacked in the head! I keep "trying" to say to myself, "They will keep you young!" "They will keep you young!" but sometimes it comes out, "They will keep you drunk!" "They will keep you drunk!" :rotfl:

I am actually "thinking" about packing. I have had such a raging headache the last couple of days, I really need to get a move on!
