Oh, goodie!! This is actually what my job is
Ok, I don't know if you've tried Sophie Kinsella's other books besides the Shopoholics - She's written Can you keep a secret? and The Undomestic Goddess - both GREAT books! BTW, Shopoholic and Baby is coming out this Spring!!!
Another Chick-lit author I really like is Irish author Marian Keyes. She has written several books. They're Chic-lit, have the humor factor, but deal with real issues. The first one I read by her was Watermelon about a gal who's husband leaves her the day their baby is born! But it's wonderfully written and is about one of 5 of the Walsh sisters. Other books by her are written about the same sisters. It's great!! Anybody Out There and Angels were great, too. About the same family. (Each is about a different sister). They will make you laugh your *** off, but also cry once or so. In a good way!!
Ok, another British Chick-lit author is Jane Green. I haven't read her, but she's written many books, and I've heard she's good!
Another author, not as well known is Wendy Markham. She hasn't written much, but there's a series of about 3 books I particularly liked, about a character named Tracy Spadolini. The books are Slightly Single, Slightly Settled and Slightly Engaged. Of course it deals with her living in New York, and her relationship with her friends and almost boyfriend. I really enjoyed these. Some are classified as Romance novels, but don't let that throw you off. Many Chick-lit books are.
If you like Chick-lit, a good publisher to look at is Red Dress Ink. Press. They seem to publish a majority of all Chick-Lit
Ok, finally, I can recommend something new, which I've been enjoying, "Chicana-Lit" which is basically Chick-Lit with a Latina twist. My favorite is Alisa Valdes Rodrigues. She's written Playing with Boys, The Dirty Girls Social Club and Make him Look Good. I liked the 3rd the least, but it was good. Lots more explicit sex than any Chick-Lit I've read. But it was still good, and I liked the correlations of the people in the novel to real life celebrities. You could totally see that. The first two are GREAT, though. I loved them both.
Another good Chicana-Lit author is Mary Castillo. There's more up and coming too.
I hope all this helps! I'm always here for a reading suggestions!

Okay all, question: What would you do (seriously) if you won the lottery.
Me: 1. Pay off house, etc.
2. Buy a really great vehicle.
I ahve to really think about after that.
Would you feel obligated to pay off family's bills or give them money?
