I was wondering in Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, do they make you take off your shoes?
My son is 41 and 1/4'" but with shoes he is 42".
I know that in kali river falls in Animal Kingdom they made us take off our shoes...
My son loved kali , is Popeyes one much a difference...
Thanks to any one who can help me~~~

i've never heard of anyone having to take their shoes off..... you should be okay (but, if you want to keep them dry, put them in the center bin after you pull away from the loading area ;) )....it's the wettest ride there!

We've done both Kali and Bluto's many times, but never without shoes. I've never seen anybody else do one of these rides without footwear and I'd think that it would make exiting the rides uncomfortable.

The first few times that we did Kali the ride wasn't officially open but they were testing and we were lucky to just walk in. We loved it and still do. But DD and I like Bluto's much better. It is a little wilder ride, seems a little longer and I think you get wetter. Lot's of fun.

In fact, you are instructed to keep your shoes ON until seated and buckled in, only then are you supposed to remove your shoes.

We have always been told that you need to keep your shoes on at all times.

To the OP - I have never seen a ride anywhere, Disney or Universal, where you are asked to take your shoes off to be measured.

I think the OP is worried about the height to ride Popeye, and if they where to check his height he would not be tall enough with shoes of.
Never saw anyone being checked for the ride unless they where to small

You're not supposed to take your shoes off on Popeye & Bluto's. Many people do, after they've cleared the turntable/load area. You have limited time to put your shoes in the central compartment before your first SOAK. ;)
