Heyyyyy...Cat, are you doing a January trip next year? How did you find the parks, resort etc.

Right now we're going the second week of January for a little over a week and I want to make sure I made the right decision We were thinking of goign in November for Thanksgiving, but I just can't justify the extra trip this year on top of crowded parks, so I figure I can move the dates over right now and add time on and still save money or upgrade to a Deluxe or something like that.

Mich - We went Jan 1-16 in 1999 & LOVED it! It was chilly though...in the 30's the morning we went to AK. but the park was empty empty empty! That's when we stayed at the CR - blah poohey, hated it...

I just booked my trip today! POP 3/19-3/24, & AKL Club level...3/24-3/30

not sure if we're gonna do DDP for the AKL part....seriously could we eat any more food? the concierge lounge thingy has food all bleepin day and night...we're going to take a whole day & juts stay a the resort. I booked it room only, but maybe I'll change my mind...

Make sure youre not around Presidents Day, and it's WONDERFUL! We always do like January 24-29-ish. Its empty and cool, and wonderful!!!

I was thinking Mid January, so it looks like the whole month of January is pretty good to go for

Mich - where are you thinking of staying? I have to tell you I did SOOOOOOOO much research this trip, I probably know something more about every resort than I did a month ago.

PJ - Where were you guys in CBR? Did you think it was too big? or too spread out? I'd love to hear what your son & Mrs. PJ thought too....The one thing I kept seeing (even on NON -dis boards) was that it was wayyy spread out & long walk to places.

Mich - where are you thinking of staying? I have to tell you I did SOOOOOOOO much research this trip, I probably know something more about every resort than I did a month ago.

Right now we are booked at Yacht just for convenience sake. However as I used to work there and from the several times I stayed there I know the room size isn't what it should be for that price.

Sal wants to stay a the Contemp and while I love the size of the rooms and it has been a long time since I've stayed there, i'm not thrilled with it.

Kids are too young to vote hahhaa, but they want to stay at ASMo. I would love to since we have not stayed there since our very first DIsney trip together AND one of my friends works there, buuuutttt I want to get away from the Values for a bit.

I want to stay at CSR, as it's our fave of all times and I have another friend that's a manager there AND we are trying to make this a semi budget trip as we are spending a little over 4 weeks in Mexico in April of next year and we want to save our pennies for that trip.

gahhh...see what one simple question gets you! heehehe!!

I loveeee AKL, but not until the kids are older. To pay for deluxe right now for us is convenience and everywhere they go from that resort is by bus Which is hectic with 3 little ones! Have you been there before?? It's fabulous and super romantic!! We like how dark it is inside

So we went out to dinner for our Anniversary and we brought the kids along, they brought us a little cake (Our fave Japanese place) and Autumn was perplexed, she literally told the waiter that it was no ones birthday and that cake is NO FOR US! No matter how many times we explained it was just an anniversary, she kept asking about the candle. No candle, just a cake she said! hahah! Candle, someones Birthday (boothday).

Gotta love kids!

There's something in January.... is it MLK day?? There's a day in January - that you should stay away from.

Hmmmm...i'm looking at our dates now though and we are there the 9-18th and i'm wondering if we will be fine if we just don't do Magic Kingdom over that last weekend?

Good morning!
Just a quick fly by to say hello. Terry discovered this great program that lets you take music you hve on your computer and turn them into ringers! So I spent quite a bit oftime Disney-fying my phone to have all kinds of crazy ringers. I was even able to get the wake up call from the resorts to put on there as my alarm in the morning!

I am so jealous of those of you who just came back or are getting ready to leave! 19 days for us.

Michelle - Good luck with your decisio. If it were me I would stay at a monorail resort for the ease of it all. I can't imagine trying to get around transportation with 3 little ones. Do you guys rent a car or no?

Chris - Glad you finally made a decision!!!!

Hey Tia! Yes, Monorail resort would be nice, but that leaves us with the Poly or the Grand and i'm not in a Grand sort of pocket book! heehee and I have never been a fan of the Poly...could this mean that Sal gets what he wants?!?? hahaaha!! We spend over 70% of our WDW time in Epcot, that's why we were thinking of the Boardwalk resorts. We love to walk and we are always in the WS, then there is boat transport to MGM and Epcot if we choose and of course we can hop the monorail in Epcot. It's just unfortunately as high as the other resorts anyway too...sooo now it's just a matter of what we want to spend! heehe!

The best part of booking a deluxe and then changing your mind at the last minute is the credit $$$ you have on your room! hahaha!

No car rental for us, we found that last time we drove, having a car there killed a lot of the vacation feel for us. We will have a car for our 2010 trip because we are doing the cruise as well and want to hit up some of the Space Center while we are down there, but if we were not, I wouldn't bother with it. We've gotten pretty good at the hold kids and fold stroller thing

We stayed in building #31, it is a perferred location. I have to agree that if you don't get a room near centertown it can be long walks. However the resort has it own internal resort shuttle, its a bus that travels around the resort and stops at all the bus stops. Last time there we were in building #51 and used the resort shuttle often. Dw and Ds liked the resort alot.

I think perferred location is worth the money here. In our case we were about a short 3 minute walk to the food court and the pool was right behind our building. The resort is split up into villages and each village has it own pool.
