Well we built this house. But we ran out of money. So we still need a patio out back, a sidewalk from the driveway to the house, some trees, shrubbery, etc. Nothings wrong. We called this place we like, who gave us an estimate for our grass, but we went with someone else who beat their estimate. So maybe that's why they aren't getting back with us? I think that'd be stupid to not get back to us because we didn't go with them last time. We called them 1.5 weeks ago, then I emailed them on Friday, and then called again today. And we want to refi our mortgage, and the bank won't call us. Called them 6 times.

Hi gang,

Well i did it again. I fired another contractor, the family friend. His price went up and the work time went from 2 weeks to 8 weeks, when i had added terms of a "on time finish" in the contract, otherwise he would have to take 25% off the price. See that's how they get you and i knowing that, made sure the contract had a "on time" project clause in it.

So we have decided to do it ourselfs. Its alot of work, but i think we can get it done and the way we want it done as well. I have a few guys from the FDNY helping out as well, but just on small projects. So far close to 3 of the 5 rooms are almost done for the final step of being painted. The kitchen wooden cabinets are done, and i just have to finish the other 2 rooms and than i can prime all 5 of them and start to really paint. Pianting is the last and final step.

Floor people are comming next monday, we have decided to scrap the hardwood floors idea and just go with carpets. We have beautiful hardwood floors in my dinning room now, but with kids just wanted to go with the carpeting. We have been working at it, since like 9 am.

My dads dog "chance" was rushed into emergency surgery this afternoon. My poor dad is a mess, won't stop crying. In all the years, i think this is the first time i've seen my dad cry, i fell so bad for him. At first they said the dog had a tumor and cancer and nothing more can be done. The dog took a turn for the worse and started running a high fever and stopped eating. My dad rushed him to the vets office this morning. The vet discovered that the dogs spleen had ruputred and he was bleeding internally.

They did the surgery to stop the bleeding and removed the spleen, they found the tumor in the spleen and it cause the rupture. The vet said offically " she can't say anything without the biopsy, but off the record it did not appear to be cancer". Originally they said it looked to be cancer from the MRI. He has to stay in the hospital for a few days. i went to visit him this am, before the surgery. He looks so sick and weak. My dad is not taking this well at all.

Alright - back to serious stuff. I have a stalker, you guys!!! Initially I thought she was just looking on Google, and it seems you can only pull up thread I started (this being one of them, for crien out loud....but whatever) But Im thinking she's getting into other ones too.

WHICH MEANS she is spending a large chunk of her life, looking me up, on here? How completely bizzarre and BORING!!!! I knew my irresistability made men swoon, but women too??? WOW! When you got it - you got it.

PJ-Sounds to me like you can do what you want to do and get it done! We TOTALLY rehabed our house all ourselves, minus the electrical and heating system work. You should have seen me helping hang sheet rock for our kitchen ceiling... now there was a sight! Good luck!

Yes, y'all, DH got me a gift card so that I can go see my "separated at birth" friend CAT. That's what my husband says about us! LOL! So, I finally get to see Chicago, if I don't chicken out of traveling all by myself to a strange place! I will need plenty of anti-anxiety drugs to get through it!

Hope you had a happy birthday Michelle! I always want to go to Japanese for my birthday but we never do. My B-Day was on Easter this year so I just went to a friends house for dinner, and Rob was working. The cool part of it was that my parents came to the Easter dinner too. They also gave me cash and a beautiful diamond cross. I think the next time I get to have Japanese is with CAT and Jim in September! yippiee!

Yep, its offical i'm doing all the work myself, well dw is helping, actually she is doing alot.

So i had work last night, at work i watched another dumb teenager ruin his life thanks to drinking. I swear i'm so sick of this and really have no compassion for these drunk drivers. Last night we get a run for a "major trauma" someone has been hit by a car, we roll and get there. The person hit by a car is dead on arrival, i mean it was real bad and this person was struck by a car that was most likely doing 80++, the driver of the car a 19 year old kid was beyond drunk, he was can't walk or see bombed drunk.

He even told us that he finished a bottle, a 56 oz bottle of 121 proof of jack dewers white label. A glass of this stuff knocks me on my tush. He said it was'nt his fault the guy just wlaked out. The kid missed a stop sign and failed to come to a stop at an intersection and blew right thru it and hit this poor man walking home and killed him instantlly. If there was a car approaching there would have been a major accident.This kid will now go to jail for around 30 years.

Yep, spring is here, this seems to be a common pratice in the warmer months.

Sadly the vets office called me friday at 4:30pm, "chance" was in Icu at thier office and passed away at 4:00 pm. They do not know why, he died, just that he just suddleny stopped breathing and they could not get him back.They were trying to get ahold of my dad to tell him. I had to go find him and tell him the news. He was a mess and i took him to the vets office to see chance. He looked so peaceful, out of pain. My dad fell to pieces and seeing this, made me somewhat upset too.

You know, to see my dad so upset, really got to me. Chance will be cremated and my dad will get his ashes. Chance was 9 years old, part greman shepard and we think part golden lab or retriver. My dad got him at 6 months old and the 2 have been best of friends since day 1. My dad vows to never get another dog, but only time will tell. I just feel so bad for my father, he is so sad.

PJ--So sorry about your dad's dog. Not having or never having had anything more than a fish and guinea pig, I don't really understand this strong affection people have for their pets. Yeah, I was sad when Bitsy died (guinea pig) from her accidental duct tape overdose, but nothing like people are with cats and dogs. I wonder if its because they have more of a personality. I hope your dad copes okay.

Did I tell you my landscaper update? Review: 2 weeks ago DH calls S landscaping, someone will return his call (but doesn't). One week ago I email S landscaping (on a Fri) and no one returns my email. Tuesday I call S landscaping, and get a call back saying someone will call me. No one calls Tues or Wed. Update: Wednesday I give up on S, and try P Landscaping, which I've never heard of. P comes on Thursday and scopes out the ground. Thursday evening S Landscaping FINALLY calls back to schedule an appt. I don't know if I should just brush them off like they brushed me off for 2 weeks, or if I should get 2 estimates (S & P).

Myers, Fl....did go to wdw on Wed & Thurs...& let me tell you it was the MOST crowded I have EVER seen....we needed a fastpass to ride LIVING WITH THE LAND! I am a new RideMax convert, tried it & LOVED it! I'll update you guys tomorrow...right now I'm exhausted!
