Just got home from WDW and DH and I were wondering what we could do with the popcorn buckets. Anybody have any unique ideas. Hate to stow them away or throw them away. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

By the way, we had a wonderful, magical time. :disrocks:

We use ours for all of our spare change for our next trip to see Mickey. ::MickeyMo

We have a wide shelf in our "travel" room that we have the buckets on with photos from trips in front of them.

I have used extras for gifts for my niece and nephews adding microwave popcorn packets and movies to the bucket.

Glad to hear you had a nice time! :) I have kept our popcorn buckets and we plan to take them down with us on our next trip. We will be staying offsite in a condo and I'm planning to make some microwave popcorn some nights to fill the buckets...and after a quick dinner at the condo, we'll take the buckets with us to enjoy at a park for the evening.

Something I've also considered (but then found I couldn't part with our buckets, LOL!) is to fill them with cookies to give to friends. I like the idea of putting micro popcorn/movies in them as a gift--very clever! :smooth:

I use mine in my sons toy room. It holds cars, legos. Whatever, it makes it easy to take along if he wants to bring them somewhere.

My daughter still pulls it out when she wants popcorn LOL...I wonder if they are the same this year?

My nephews use theirs strictly for popcorn. It's become a ritual! Whenever they watch movies, they pull out their special buckets, and eat "Disney-corn", lol.

Popcorn...popcorn and more popcorn. Divide and conquer saves a lot of trouble fighting about "fair share". :earboy2:

Thanks for the great ideas. Never thought about using it for popcorn. Duh! Will definitely use one to save money for the next trip. The gift idea was great too. Don't have any little ones around anymore, but could sure use them for my little things that get thrown around. Can't wait to go back to WDW. We are already making plans. ::MickeyMo

I collect these - I have no idea why. I like to use them for sending treats for parties at DS's daycare...I throw together cereal, nuts, M&M's, marshmallows and such and the buckets make a great carrier and the kids love it.

DH uses them for huge drinking buckets of lemonade in the summer...I have used them to pack T-shirts and such for gifts to my niece and nephew. Spare change ends up in them and of course, popcorn or snacks in the car/watching tv/etc.

I pack mine full of ice and empty as many Diet Coke cans as can fit in it. :)

We have two. One of them came in handy on our '02 trip. I'm glad my dh sprung for the popcorn in the bucket....after the popcorn was gone, and while watching Illuminations, my poor little 7 y/o ds ended up getting sick all over the place....boy, that bucket came in handy on our walk back to the bus! And it was especially nice when people saw him hurling into it, they sent us right to the front of the very long line!!

Anyway, they've been run through the dishwasher several times, and not really used all that often. I never thought to use them for popcorn....doh!!

Each trip I try to collect all the buckets, though this year I missed the one they were selling at the Osbourne Lights. I use mine for various things. In my kitchen they hold my cooking utensils, kids room-toys,bathroom-wash cloths, and of course for popcorn now and again. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

We got 2 last year and the girls keep little toys in them. Thanks Disneycrazedx6 for the idea of kitchen tools. I will be "borrowing " one from the girls to use for that.April ::MickeyMo

I have 16 of them. I have them hanging on a wall that help to frame in my pictures of all the rides we had pictures taken on.

I take a digital photo of them before I leave home so I can check in each park to see if there are any new ones. I am sure with the 50TH celebratiion starting in May there will be some new ones. On the way home I packed small stuff in them, helps to save some space.

For the person who asked how big are they...they are 9 inches tall with a handle and a lid. They are 5 inches across at the top and about 3 1/2 inches across at the bottom.

If I could figure out how to post a picture I would show you how I have them hanging.I will work on that when I'm not busy planning...

Well I've never seen them, so I don't know how large they are. You could buy African violets and use the buckets as planters....don't fill them w/dirt, just put the plant in them as they are. That would be cute. :goodvibes
