Does anyone know which special popcorn buckets are currently sold at the parks? If I bring my Steamboat Mickey bucket, will they sell me the discounted refill in DL and DCA?

No to the refills currently and your bucket would not work for it anyways. There is a Magic Key refill bucket offer coming up soon, though. You must buy the new bucket to get the refill deal. And to buy it and get the refill deal you must have a Magic Key AP.

It’s also 11 dollars and refills are 1.50. Break even point is between 3-4 refills.

3-4 refills are weak numbers. Y'all can do better than that. I believe in you.

Also $11? You sure? I haven't seen a cost released, but in previous years the AP refill popcorn buckets have ranged in cost from $15-$20. $15 being the more standard bucket. And $20 being the fancy shaped ones. The $1.50 for refills is accurate, though.

I've seen it reported on social media as $11 several times. It's not a "premium" bucket, it's a plain/regular bucket but it says Magic Key on it. I'm excited as I hated paying $20 for the refillable AP buckets as it didn't really end up as any cost savings for us.

I know it's not a premium bucket (the fancy style I mentioned). But in the past the one you're talking about has been $15 :confused3 . I've seen the pictures of the new bucket so I'm aware of what it looks like.

$11 is the cost of the non refill bucket of that style. I wonder if people are just speculating because of that? I haven't seen anything official yet. I'd be pleased if they made the bucket cheaper than it's ever been, though.

EDIT:
This is what it looks like if others haven't seen it yet (picture not mine; it's from GR's page and it's a picture that was taken inside the Magic Key area). Glad they listened and brought back this style:

Reported by Disneyland Daily as $11 with $1.50 refills. She attended a media event.

Small typo in your post: they're $1.50 for refills. I wish they were 50¢ for refills! The $1.50 is officially shared already by Disney as well.

Interesting the buckets are being reported they'll be $4 cheaper than they've been in the past for the standard style. Looked it up and confirmed they've been $15 since they started the AP buckets back in Summer 2016.

Fingers crossed that stays true! That would be a nice surprise to see something reduce in price, lol!

EDIT: I see you edited while I was replying :rotfl: . Sorry!

So lets say a friend with a key buys you a popcorn bucket.... are they going to ask too see your pass for every refill? Don't flame me - just wondering ;). I wish the general public can get these deals - air $600, hotel $1500, tickets $700, food, gifts, etc... and people in OC can buy a pass and get deals for the cost of one of my 4 day hoppers! Yes Im venting and I am a bit jealous.... again don't flame me - just wishing Disney would take care of the 'outsiders' as well.

They physically scan the pass every time.

Don't worry the cost to live there outweighs the cost savings given from Disney lol

Another report of $11 buckets with $1.50 refills. Makes me so happy!

D23 also confirmed it already too. D23 is official enough for me to believe Disney really did decrease the price by $4 for this style.

I'm shocked, though! And a little suspicious why they would do that :scratchin . Like was this a decision they made on purpose? Did they forget they'd been charging $15 for this style? Are they trying to tempt more people to purchase Keys by making the refill buckets 26.7% cheaper (for this style of bucket based on past price)?

Oh well. The lower price is positive thing for those able to take advantage since the break even point is lowered now 😁

I think it’s because they anticipate less trips from pass holders now due to the reservation system and increased blackout dates. Before we had the details on the bucket I was going to skip it thinking it was going to be another one of those designs that suck at holding popcorn and are 20+ bucks. Wouldn’t be worth it for our 2-3 trips before the 10th.

Eh, maybe? Still seems not very Disney to lower the cost. We were already used to paying $20 and I was fully expecting $20 even after I saw it went back to the standard bucket design. I was going to be happy if it was $15. $11 is sus to me.

I eat enough popcorn in a single trip that $20 I could make work for the 3-5 days I'm there. But I also don't normally buy popcorn anyways unless the refill deal is happening so I'm definitely saving nothing when I buy a refill bucket and all the refills :rotfl: . But I can justify the extra popcorn cost to myself with the refill deal.

This ends before my trip so not going to be able to use it. Glad it's come back, though! I was so bummed I missed out on the offering last year right before the parks closed. Got the bucket (friend grabbed it for me when she was there), but never got a trip in to use it.
