Has anyone stayed in one of the standard Pop rooms (2 queens) with three adults? It'll be myself, DH, and MIL (gulp ) for 4 or 5 nights. Last time we went to WDW, the only time DH and I were in the room was when we were sleeping, so I was thinking we'd be OK. DH, however, is having second thoughts.

What do you think?

I did pop for 10 nights with 4 adults, my mother, my friends mother and my friend. My friend was in erm 21 year old hissy fit mode...but we managed. We had a laundry basket, put our clothes in the drawer, stacked our suitcases and had no room problems. We were in the park so much we were only in the room to eat breakfast and sleep.

But if you guys are unsure then you may need to reevaluate

I think if you plan to spend most of your time touring, you should be fine. Most people don't "hang out" in their rooms at Pop, so I would think it shouldn't be a problem.

We periodically travel with our two grown children with one room. I get up at the first alarm and get my shower, then the next person, etc. Don't forget they have showers in the buildings near the pool, so if you have someone who wants to "hog" the bathroom, keep that in mind. LOL!

Well first, Pop does NOT have queen beds. You will get 2 full size beds, so that may very well make you reconsider. No way DH and I could squeeze in a full size bed....he's 6'5 and I'm 5'10. And there is NO WAY IN YOU KNOW WHERE that I would ever stay in the same room with my MIL. I won't even stay in the same room with my own mom anymore (learned that the hard way over Spring Break this year when we took DD to Baltimore. The woman snores, admits she does, but there was no sleep for me:sad2:)!

If DH is having 2d thoughts, that should be enough to have you booking a 2d room!

I have stayed solo at Pop, and had a roommate. Did fine both times, but certainly would not want any more than 2 adults in the room.

I concur with all of the others. The Mrs. and I have stayed a Pop several times and we were in each others way. I am sure it is doable, but the question is how pleasant will it be?

Like the others said...it's not 2 queens, it's 2 fulls.
Are all the guests woman? My 21 yr old daughter, my girlfriend and myself just got back and we were fine! :)

As others have mentioned, Pop Century has double beds, not queens. If you and your husband are comfortable sleeping in that size bed, it shouldn't be a problem. I stayed in a Pop Century room with my in-laws who are used to a double bed. And they had ten (yes, ten) bags for the four day stay. I had one suitcase and a laptop. But we managed with no problems.

You could always book the family suite at ASMU but it would probably cheaper to get two rooms. Buena Vista Suites offsite has amazing rates and offers 1 bedroom suites with 2 queen beds and a living room area with a sleeper sofa. They also offer shuttle service.

We stayed at Pop with 3 adults and 2 kids (1 in a pack n play) and it was tough! We're going again with 2 adults and 2 kids this year. But the first time the extra person was my MIL. And I really enjoyed our last day when we stayed offsite at a 1 bed suite, MIL stayed in the LR sleeping on the pull-out couch! It's doable because we were hardly in the rooms...but still a little difficult!

I bet you stayed at Buena Vista Suites. They have amazing rates. If you go to www.mousesavers.com they have a special rate.

We did it...it was myself (5'8"), my older dd (5'7") and younger dd (5'9"). The younger dd and I shared one bed and the other dd had a bed to herself. We had no issues at all.

I guess it depends on what you are used to and how your family feels about it. I don't think it would be a big deal for me at all. The moderates also have double beds and we (dh and I) had no problems sleeping in one there. We squeezed 6 people into our room at POR, so I think I could handle 3 people at Pop. lol. For other people, that would be way too crowded and it would ruin their trip. It's a personal decision I suppose.

The party of four I was with Im 5'10, DM is 5'10 and the other two were 5'6 and 5'9 we had no problem and 3 out of the 4 of us are Pooh size (well now only half of us are as Im no longer pooh size more like Piglet I suppose haha)

The moderates also have double beds

CSR has queen beds, but the other moderates have double beds.

OP, I'd be more worried about the general close quarters and small room size than the bed size. I love my MIL, but I wouldn't stay in a 260 sq. ft. room with one bathroom with her and my DH.

As others have said....I think it depends on your relationships. DH and his mom, you and the MIL....etc.

Besides, there is no dressing area at POP, so would that be comfortable?

I concur that if DH is having second thoughts that you may want to change your plans.

I think it depends on how much you like your MIL! :lmao: Just Kidding! I went last year, and it was myself, my sister and my 2 teenage boys (they are both about 5'10 and 180 lbs). We were just fine, but I definitely think it is a personal preference. My sister is bringing her 2 kids for our trip this September, and we did price the family suite at ASMU and it was cheaper to get 2 separate rooms. Good Luck! :)

We've done 5 adults in a Pop room! Bring on the Dis police ;), but we didn't say that we would have 5 in the room. I know-we are crazy! It was me, DH, my mom and stepdad, and my sister. We brought a twin size air mattress and, I believe, shoved it under the bed, or deflated it each day. I don't remember. It was a tight squeeze, but we had a great time anyways. We weren't in the room much, so it didn't matter.
