Hi.

We're planning a long weekend at Disney the weekend of December 6th & 7th to go to Mickey's Merry Christmas Party. Where do the Pop Warner kids usually bunk at? I would think it would be All Stars, but do they also stay at moderates or deluxes too?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

We were at WDW the first week of Dec. 2001 and the Pop Warner kids were there then. You might want to check out the official website and look up the Wide World of Sports schedule. We stayed at POR and there were Pop kids and families staying there but they did not bother us. They were busy with their competitions. We also noticed that some were staying at CSR when we moved over there. We visited ASMO during our trip and saw alot of groups of all descriptions over there. They did not seem to be a big impact in the parks. We would see a small group of them every now and again. Other Diser's have posted having problems with groups, but we never have had any problems.

I have gone two years in a row in December, once the first week and the other the second week. Both times the Pop Warner groups were there,, I think they are there most of December and the College eliminations start in January. I was there in January & experienced that too.

The All Stars are were the majority stay.. Last December I was at the POR and they were there as well, and in the French Quarter. I asked check in to please put me away from the groups, and they did a good job. I was on the third floor of Magnolia Terrace with other families..but the kids still ran around alot, but not so much on my floor. I often wondered where the chaperones were. They were using a slippery when wet sign to skate board down the bannisters. An accident waiting to happen. I had to tell them not to do that (The mom in me ya know) cause they could get real hurt and fly into other people as well.

I didnt like being at the AS Music while they were there..Nothing against the kids, but I come from NYC and I live with crowds and noise. I didnt want to experience that on my vacation. There were tons of pre teens all over..it was like being in a Jr HS. Good thing I split my stay and only had two nights there...I wanted to experience the All Stars after staying at POR. I wont do that again.

When you check in,,ask the CM to put you away from the groups, if they happend to be at your resort. I doubt many of them will be at a deluxe. I was told that when pop century opens,,that will be the facility they (Pop Warner) will house many of their groups along with the other All Stars.

Thanks so much for the replies. It's the Wilderness Lodge for us. Plus, it's probably decorated to the hilt. I've been there on Thanksgiving for a couple of days, but they were not finished decorating.

The WL has a magnificent Christmas Tree. Its gorgeous there at holiday time as well as all the other resorts and the parks.

The first week of December is a great time, traditionally, the crowds are low. My favorite time is October (usualy last week), December 1st two weeks) Jan, May.(not memorial day, but early May)

Have a magical time!:D
