How Crowded Is This Week (dec4-dec10 2005)

The parks themselves are not crowded. You may see some groups of teens but there are not enough to make a dent in crowd numbers. The big problem is if you stay where they are staying (values, moderates), they stay 4 to a room so the resort facilities are crowded (food courts, pools).

We were there from Dec 3-13 and Pop Warner didn't seem to affect the SIZE of the crowds--it is a perfect time to go if you are talking only about crowds as our longest wait time on a ride was 30 minutes! Personally, I don't think we would go again while they are there as we had bad experiences! My best advice is to type "Pop Warner" in to the DIS search to see what others say, I won't "fan the fire" by adding anything more as this is a rather "heated" topic!

We were there Dec. 5-11 this year and the crowds were wonderful compared to our previous Thanksgiving week trips. The longesest we waited for anything was 20 minutes- and most were 5 minute waits. Yep, you do see the occasional group of teens and they may be cheering, etc. However, I will not let that keep me from going again this week. My advice is to avoid the values. Some were at POFQ this year and I saw them in the food court, but no problems. I think our room was far away from theirs- a request you might want to make when checking in. Go and have fun!!!

We were there December 5-11 and I will just echo what previous posters have said - we didn't see any effect on park attendance, although you may run into the occasional group of them. We never saw more than half a dozen at a time. The people who had the most problems seemed to be the ones who were staying at the same resorts as the Pop Warner groups. If you stay at a resort where they are not, their impact on your trip will likely be minimal, if not non-existent. I think that their group sometimes has one park, most often MGM, closed early one night for their exclusive use.

We were there this December 5th to the 11th also. I wouldn't say PW effected the crowds, but we definitely noticed them on the buses (we stayed at POFQ and there were ALOT of PW'ers staying at Riverside so we shared buses with them) they were also noticeable at DTD in the evenings and I mostly saw them at MK and MGM, but almost not at all at AK or Epcot.

Personally I would never go again the same week at Pop, mostly because I hear Pop is only getting bigger. Alot of people here commented they were much more noticeable this December than 2003 and according to PW's boards, there were 35% more Pop teams in 2004 than 2003 and will be 50% more Pop teams going to Disney in 2005 than 2003 so I prefer not to risk it again going that week.
