I was just reading on another Dis Forum about Pop Warner week, I never heard of it, but it is the exact same dates as the trip I am planning in December. I'm not worried about the hotel, but will it effect the crowds or anything in the parks? Will it be more crowded because of Pop Warner week? I specifically chose the week of December 5th hoping for light crowds. Anyone have experience going to WDW during Pop Warner week (which even though I don't totally understand what it is, I am now afraid of it LOL! )

Pop Warner is a kids football league. I guess they have their play-offs at Disney, but I had no idea that people would pull their kids out of school to go to it. If I were you I would try to find a Pop Warner web site on Google or something. Maybe you could see if they follow a certain schedule, like visiting parks on specific days during their stay, and you could try to avoid them. I guess the older kids are running around unsupervised, but most of the problems I have read about were at the All Star resorts. You are lucky to not be staying at one of them. Don't worry, just play it by ear and be prepared to park hop if necessary.

We were at the All Star Movies this past December-right on time for Pop Werner. The kids just drove me crazy. Most of the time it was on the buses.

It wasn't too bad at the parks. For the most part we hardly noticed them-but on the buses AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!

This was the 2nd time we stayed at the All Stars during Pop Werner. You'd think I would have learned the 1st time.

If you avoid the value resorts you will be fine. At the values, the noise level is unbelievable, the pools packed and you literally need to step over cheerleaders who are practicing anywhere they want to! They weren't badly behaved, but there were just so many of them!
Have a great time- the lines at the parks should be minimal!

I have been twice during Pop Warner time, and never had any problems. We saw a few groups of cheerleaders in line for rides, but they were all well behaved. We did not notice an increase in the crowds, and we did not have a problem at the hotel (we were at the Movies the first time).
