I booked the 2nd week in decmeber becuase i thought POP werner would be over before that week I am booked at SSR (DVC) for Dec 6th thru Dec 12th, I didn't look into the week because I thought I had a reliable source for the dates but needless to say I guess I didn't, so I ahve a couple of questions for all of you and your help is greatly appreciated.

1) Are the parks full of 11, 12, & 13 year old football players, just like the cheerleaders?

2) I am staying at SSR, am I going to have to deal with the football teams?

3)Did I really screw up this time?

Thank you in advance for all your answers and input

1) The parks aren't really that full of the Pop Warner kids because they are competing during the day. DHS will have the most later in the week but even then the levels of PW kids isn't that bad.

2) I believe they stay at the All Star resorts and POR mostly so you should be safe at SSR.

3) We've gone during PW and never had any problems with the crowds or the PW groups.

I stayed at BWV during PW week last year and it wasn't a problem.

Several times during PW week at WDW and have never really seen it effect the parks. We stay at OKW so we have seen a few of the young folks but really a non factor on park crowds.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

glad to hear the Pop Warner participants shouldn't be a problem - we'll be at PC during 2nd week of December too....

We have been during Pop Warner week and we did not see any problems whatsoever. They usually stay at ASsp so you are definitely ok!:thumbsup2

We were there for POP week in Dec 07. I shared your concerns.

I can honestly say it was no problem. If I did not know in advance....I would not have known.

ENJOY

We stayed at SSR last year during Pop Warner and it didn't make a difference at all.

But we did find that going to MK at the end of the week was busier than we expected, especially the popular rides like coasters. There were a lot of kids.

But we booked SSR this week for the same week so we weren't too bothered. :)

For me, it's really a non-issue now. I was at AllStarMusic at the same time the kids were there in '03. Other than the food court being busier than usual and there being louder kids on the buses, it wasn't all that different. I've been to WDW probably 4 times now, at the same time as the PW kids..they a have had a negligable impact on me. Yes, there have been one or two times when I ran into a larger than normal group of kids in a park. But they were never out of control. I do believe there were some issues this past year, but that wasn't an everyday occurance.
I have had much worse experiences with the youth groups that head to Epcot in the spring....man, talk about bad behaviour. You would think that if you had the name of the organization you were with, right on your teeshirt, you would have better behaviour..nope. It didn't seem to matter to those kids. PW kids were much better behaved than the spring-time youth groups!!!

Oh dear me mon, don't feel worried, they will not bother you.....;)

We will be at SSR December 7-12th. I am not worried about Pop Warner at all. Hopefully that is not an error on my part!!:scratchin

You will be fine at SSR.
You may encounter a few "packs" of teens running around the parks unsupervised (as we did in December), but that's about it..

I was there during 05 Pop Warner week. We stayed at AKL and just saw a few groups of boys roaming around the park. For the most part, they were very well-behaved and respectful. I heard one older group of boys using bad language while playing in an area intended for younger kids and suggested that they should not do that. They practically fell over themselves apologizing and moving along. I wish I could say the same for the UCA cheerleaders/dancers I was around on my last trip. :sad2: I'd go back during Pop Warner in a minute. I've avoid UCA like the plague.

Can someone clarify for me what the dates of POP are? We will be staying the first week of Dec and staying at ASMO, just curious what to expect.

We are staying at POP Dec 6-12 and after all the reassuring posts I have read about Pop Warner I am not worrying about it. I would like to find out when they have their big thing at the studios to help me with my planning but otherwise we plan on a great trip.

Bev

Their night at DHS is usually the Wednesday of that week. And it's closed to the public for that time anyway.. and the park hours for December (when released) will indicate that.

But yeah.. Wednesday usually.

We were there during pop warner week last year and we had no problems with the pop warner kids. As a matter of fact, I found most of them to be well mannered and polite. One kid from a football team went after a toddler who ran into the middle of the area where the bus stops. Another kid let me go ahead of him when I went to get a soda refill.

If anyone was a pain, it was the adults! Well, actually a specific adult. Aside from that, I seen them mostly at the resort and that is because we stayed at ASSports. But really no problems.

How many PW kids are there that go to WDW? I know that there are probably tens of thousands of kids that play PW, but how many actually end up at WDW?
