I have not been during Christmas. We usually go Jan or Feb. This year we will be there first two weeks of December and I am already obsessively planning. I have read crowds are higher at night the week of Pop Warner because the kids are competing during the day. Has anyone been there with Pop Warner kids and the Very Merry Christmas Party? Since it is an extra expense, will the Christmas Party's be free of most Pop Warner kids or will the Very Merry Christmas Parties be loaded with Pop Warner kids that week?
Anyone with experience that can help? :worship:
Thanks!

PW has virtually no effect on park crowds, and especially not at the parties.

We were there the first and second week of Dec last year and didn't find that the Pop Warner kids affected crowds all that much. They certainly have a presence at the resorts though. At POP they weren't noisy enough to be any trouble at all but there aren't as many at POP than there are at the All Stars, supposedly. There was a day during the second week of Dec where DHS closed at 6pm for a party and I highly recommend going to DHS that day because it was near dead. MVMCP will likely sell out regardless but attraction lines will still be short.

Thanks! We will be at POFQ so I am hoping we won't be overrun at the hotel. I have heard some horror stories about POP with cheerleaders and want to avoid that. Hoping and trying to make my Christmas trip magical because our last trip turned out to be a dud since my fiance got the flu.

I was surprised the last time I went to MVMCP on a Tuesday night during the PW week that it sold out. We were able to get tickets the day before but that night there was a sign out front that said "sold out". There were alot of youth band groups there at the same time.

We went during PW and attended a Christmas Party. I noticed some PW groups in the parks but they didn't seem to make a huge impact. I thought the overall crowd level was great that week... but I didn't go into it with the expectation that the parks would be empty. The Christmas Party was definitely crowded but nothing that bothered us. The ride lines were short and we enjoyed the festive atmosphere. The first part of December is my favorite time to go!!

We've done three MVMCP during the first two weeks in December (our favourite time to go) and we don't find it very crowded. Especially after the fireworks, the place tends to empty out a bit. We saw some of the PW groups during the day in various parks but I can't say that I noticed them during MVMCP. We didn't get there super early for it (about 8-ish I think) and got a good location for the parade.

We went to MVMCP Tues dec 10 during pop warner this past year. It was the favorite day of our trip. I thought it was crowded during the 8:00 parade and then it was excellent the rest of the evening. We stayed on splash mountain and rode twice consecutively without getting off. Waits for Big thunder were nothing as well. It was sooooo fun and ruined it a little bit for the 4 year old and 5 year old the next day. "What- we have to get off and stand in line if we want to ride again." :) The whole day was significantly less crowded than the following day (a wednesday) at MK. I guess people who aren't planning to do MVMCP don't want to go that day because park closes early to them and people who do want to do MVMCP don't want to do the day there because they want to sleep in for staying up late. SO- it really was much less crowded. PW had no effect for us. We found the 9 pm electrical parade on wednesday much worse than the Christmas party parade on tues. Have a wonderful time. I'd love to do it all again.

Last year I did not see many pop warner kids durning the Christmas party. We saw them once exiting Space Mountain making a "dog pile" on the moving walk way. They almost knocked over a woman and my fiancé I literally had to yell to get them to notice they were hitting people. I did not call and complain because I didn't want them getting the boot but that was the worst experience we had with them. Every other time we ran into them in the park they were fine.
