Pop Warner Football/Cheer Event

Someone posted on the Resorts board that the Pop Warner Football/Cheer Event will take place Dec. 7-13, which is the week we'll be at WDW. Has anyone been to WDW during this event, and how does this event affect crowd levels in the parks?

We will be there that week and i did some checking a little while back on the issue. it seems that the parks are affected very little as the children are in games or pratice much of the day. The big inpact is on the value resorts. Past experence has showed that they tend to be very loud and crowed during this week. just the added push we needed to change our reservatios to the WL!!!

Hey, we will be there too from Dec. 5-10 first 2 nights at CBR and 3 nights at WL

We've stayed at the Value resorts during the time of Pop Warner event. The Food Courts were crowded however the hotel was not too loud. The CMs seem to put them in the back of the property. Sometimes the pools were crowded.
It wasn't all that bad.
My DD enjoyed to practices on the Football Field at ASSp.
She's a cheerleader wannabe.

It is the week of December 6-13 and my son's team is only 3 games away from being one of the teams going!!!! I have my fingers crossed, we were going to go the end of January but now we could be there in as little as 4 weeks
I don't know about the boys being at practice and games the WHOLE time, we have to buy them hopper passes as part of the deal so they fully intend on visiting all the parks while there. I for one can speak for our team and tell you those boys will not be rowdy and out of line, our coaches run a very disciplined team and those boys respect them and are very well behaved children, not to mention Pop Warner is the only organization that has an academics policy in place so every child that plays for them have to be excellent students as well to even participate. I wouldn't worry if I were you, they won't effect your vacations.

WE were there one XMAS week during Warner/Cheerleader time and the parks didn't seem much different than usual. But there were plenty of posts on the board about the behavior of some of these kids (and their "adult" chaperones) at the Value Resorts.
Made me glad I wasn't staying at any of the resorts where these groups were housed.

In Dec. of 2001 we were at WL and in the parks on this occasion.
We in fact flew from Charlotte to Orland with a team of the cheerlears. If we had not read on the boards that they were going to be there we would have never known the difference. The young ladies we flew down with were Ladies in ever since of the word. Someone had done a great job with them.
