We're FINALLY booking today - but we need everyone's thoughts. Our two final choices are Dec 1-6 at POP for $822 or POR for $1075.. Differences regarding the busses, food, service, etc. . anything! We're sooo excited but we're having a hard time deciding! Help! Thanks!

If yo're comfortable spending the extra money, go for POR. It's awesome. If not go for POP. I'm staying at POP in January, so I can spend more money on tours and other things I want. Ask yourself how much time you'll spend at the resort. if it's a lot, try for POR. Both resorts have a lot to offer and I doubt you'd be dissapointed in either.

Go here:

Deb has pictures and fact sheets for all the resorts, it should help you decide!

The one big downside of Pop is the food service. The food court is a joke because it is sooooo crowded anywhere close to a meal time. POR is nicely themed and very relaxing. Hah, to really confuse you, having said that I would probably choose Pop (just because I would like to have the extra money for other things). Pop (aside from food court) is a wonderful place to stay.

::MickeyMo POR hands down! We've stayed at both...POR before the Pop and after our experience at the Pop, we would definitely spend the extra money to stay moderate. From our personal experience regarding the Pop, the bus service was atrocious, the dining hall was noisy and crowded, kids running around at all hours of the night (don't they go to sleep?), and the customer service was less than stellar (We went to pick up our HDDR tickets and the woman saw that it was paid and went to print them, but somehow lost them. Then she couldn't figure out how to get it back and then it said money was still due! Atrocious. 2 hours at the concierge. What a waste of time!). The room size is more than adequate for two people, but I must say that the walls are thin. You hear toilets flushing, showers and water running, and not just your own! POR was a beautiful resort, the food court was never busy (we went during moderate crowd times), and the bus service fabulous. I'd stay at POR again in a heartbeat. I suggest requesting a "mansion room." It doesn't cost extra and it's gorgeous. We had a view of the river without even asking for it! It was perfect. The boat to DTD is a great feature too! ::MinnieMo

We have stayed at both and I'd say POR hands down. To me, POR is a resort with lush greenery, a peaceful environment, and a place where I would like to spend the day. POP lacks the resort feel and lacks the landscaping, but would be ok for a trip where I wanted to spend the majority of time at the parks. There is a difference though.

::MickeyMo Yes. I'd say a much more "vacationy" feel. More relaxing. Not nearly so hectic. ::MinnieMo

If in your budget I would say POR ... definitely ... Here is why...

1) Doesn't feel as crowded or hectic at POR
2) Food court is great and you can always take a very quick walk down to the POFQ which also has a nice food court
3) Transportation to Downtown Disney via boat -- great trip -- very relaxing
4) The grounds are well themed and well kept
5) Rooms are larger than POP
6) Two sinks in the bathroom area which are separate from the shower and toilet
7) Refrigerators and coffee pots standard in the rooms with no charge
8) The lounge at POR is great and the entertainment there is outstanding! It is so much fun to be there and join in the fun!
9) One large pool and numerous quiet pools.
10) If you have young kids there is a fishing hole there where you can rent Huck Fin poles and bait ... the kids can fish and it isn't really expensive.
11) Nice playground area that is in the shade and fun for older kids. Plus, you can use the playground at POFQ if you so desire.

The value we have experience with is the All Stars ... and we prefer either POFQ or POR hands down

That being said, if you are simply going to lay your head on the pillow, shower, dress and then are out the door...then you might save the money and go with POP. If in the budget we would always opt for the POR or POFQ first.

I would go with POR, although I have never stayed at POP. I like to stay in a beautiful environment when I am on vacation and, to me, POP is not beautiful. The scenery I think would get on my nerves rather than relax me. Also, some of the reviews on Tripadvisor were pretty bad.

I went to WDW twice last year and stayed at POR the first time and Pop the second.

I would choose Pop in a heartbeat over POR. It has a better food court, better bus service, and seems to be more Disney to me.

I think we'll be choosing POP. There are very mixed reviews, but thanks for reassuring me!! I'm sure the 300 difference will be put to good use!!

You will be at Disney ... I'm sure that POP will be a wonderful experience with you and make sure and have fun with that extra money!
