Any input on these would be great. I booked a Preferred Room at CSR but I am trying to save some money and POP would be about $200 less. Should we stay at CSR or switch to POP? Two adults and one teenager 14. Thanks so much!

Save some by going standard at CSR, then request Cabanas.

I personally wouldnt downgrade to value. For my family, the queens and pool at CSR are more than worth it.

ALL Disney resorts are nice. They are all clean, themed, have dining and recreation activities and are very family friendly.
Disney resorts fall into categories according to their amenities and locations. There are definite price differences in the categories and there are definite differences in atmosphere, amenities, etc. There is a reason one is a value resort and one is a moderate resort --- while both are nice--one is nicer. There is a reason one cost more than the other--you get more bang for your buck--more atmosphere, more expensive type of furnishings, table service restaurant, boat rentals, inside bar & pool bars, etc. It all depends on whether this is worth more $ to you and your family. If you are only using your resort room to sleep and shower then it might not be worth the extra money. To us it is worth the extra $, we are resort people, to us the resort is a big part of every trip.

If having a nice pool area and having queen beds are important, then stay at CSR. If you won't be spending any time at the resort other than to sleep, and full beds are fine, then stay at Pop.

Have to agree with this. The beds at CSR are very nice! Plus the privacy doors between the beds and the bathroom area are wonderful - especially with a teen. And the pool totally rocks!!

we stayed at CSR in June and in a preferred room.

Personally, I wouldn't go with a preferred room because it's in a section that's not really the "best" place to be. Like someone else mentioned, the Casitas are IMO a better location. The preferred is situated closer to the business area - remember CSR is a convention property and I feel like while it's called a preferred room, it's more of a preferance if you're at CSR for that portion of the resort.

I think CSR for sure - mainly because the beds at CSR are queen size - while at POP the beds are doubles and the room is very small at POP - literally the door opens and the bed is right there. At CSR you will have a little more space.:)

The Casitas closest to the main building ARE the preferred buildings. Cabana 9B is the business class building.

My favorite building is Cabanas 8B (which I have requested and gotten twice!). Closest to the main pool, a quick walk to the bus stop, and a very nice manageable walk to the main building.

I agree about staying at CSR but maybe downgrading to standard if money is a concern. Also, how often do you eat the resort food court? Pop food court is a lot nicer than CSR food court, IMO.

Hi
I would definitely stay at CSR, especially with a teenager. Rooms are larger, beds are more comfortable and are queen size. I think it's worth the money. Also, the bus service was one of the best I've ever had. No long waits!! Also, Pops beds are now very hard. If you like a really firm bed then you should be all right. I'm doing a split stay in Aug. to save some money and staying at All Star Sports and I read that the beds there are like sleeping on a rock also. So I'm shipping down foam mattress covers to help us out with that. I hope it helps. We couldn't sleep on Pop's beds and had to change resorts. Have a great time!!

CSR is awesome resort. For only 200.00 more I would stay there. We like pop as well. But we go for 14 nights a mod tends to be a lot more.
