We have a chance to change our free dining package from Pop to CBR for $300. Worth it? I think my biggest concern is that I heard the busses have more stops at CBR so ultimately could take longer on commutes to the parks. How much bigger are the rooms at CBR? Just trying to get opinions, I dont mind paying the $300 if its totally worth it, but we are happy with Pop too.

I believe the rooms at Pop are 260 square feet and have full size beds. CBR rooms are 314 square feet and have queen size beds. CBR rooms were just refurbished and many have an extra pull down bed so they can fit five guests. CBR also has double sinks in the bathroom and wooden sliding doors instead of a curtain. Don't forget, if you stay at CBR you get the regular dining plan instead of the quick service one at Pop. We love Pop, but chose to switch to CBR for our fall trip. I'm so excited to try a new resort.

We love pop have stayed there for the past 6 years. But we wanted to upgrade out dining plan so CBR was only 150.00 more. Plus CBR is the only mod we haven't stayed at. I will admit all those bus stops scare me.

Is your POP reservation for the QSDP or had you already upgraded the POP dining?

So you are going for 9 days (nights?) and you say the upgrade is only $300. Even though not a huge CBR fan and we never use the buses, if I were getting a brand new rehabbed room with Queen beds and the regular DDP for only $300 for that long a trip - YES I would switch to CBR.

I'm not the op but are upgrade was 150.00 more to a moderate for 14 nights. My oldest turns 10 a few days before we leave so 300.00 sounds about right if she has 2 actual Disney kids.

So I'm guessing op already upgraded the plan at pop.

The fear of the amount of bus stops is overstated. Never has been a problem. It's not like riding the subway train in NYC.

Agree. We stayed at CBR last year right in the middle of spring break. The parks were crowded, and the resort was crowded. Given that, we never had any trouble catching the busses either to or from the parks.

To many it's not an issue but to many it is. The number of stops adds on a good amount of travel time and when you are already up early to go or tired coming home late it can impact a stay. And depending on where your room is you may never see a seat on the bus. It's not a deal breaker for us, it just means it's a stay where we drive to the parks. The plus is the parking is right up at all the buildings so our walk to the car is short.

PS I lived and worked in NYC and I'd much rather ride a subway than the bus at CBR.

I was having the same dillema before FD came out. It was around $280 to upgrade to CBR from Pop for 7 nights. We decided to do it and I'm very excited about it :)

I've been debating this too. I booked Pop thinking that my kids would enjoy it but I'm wondering if I should switch to CBR...

I've never stayed at POP, but I did love CBR! We stayed there for the first time this past February, and really didn't have a problem with the busses at the resort. (The only bus glitch we had was a really long wait leaving DTD.)

The main pool is great - and has a water slide, and there are quiet pools in each section as well. We liked the food court, and there is also a sit-down restaurant right at the resort. (We didn't happen to try it, but it's nice to have the option.)

In the end, I'd go with whatever theme is important to your family. But if you want CBR, I do think the difference is justified, especially if it upgrades your dining plan.

How is it so cheap to upgrade from POP? We are booked 6 nights with free quick service and to upgrade it is much more expensive then what you all are talking about.

I just priced an upgrade to CBR for my adult DS and myself for two weeks on free dining and it was over 1,000 more? And that was including the DDP that I paid to upgrade to at POP. I dont see how it would only be 300 more for one week?? Am I missing something?

It seems a lot more expensive to you because you're not only upgrading resorts, you're also upgrading your dining plan. Plus, in the last 24 hours, the moderates are apparently filling up on the FD offers, and their prices have jumped quite a bit. Also, I imagine that most that experienced only a marginal increase had upgraded their QS dining plan to the standard dining plan.

Here's my real example. 2 adults and one child, but the child is 10, so in Disney terms....3 adults. 6 nights, 6 days in the parks. We originally booked at POP, and we upgraded to the regular dining plan from the QS plan. Total of that stay was $2376. When standard rooms opened up at CBR, we upgraded to that deal and our total cost went to $2491...or a $115 increase. We've since moved to CSR for the same deal.

Upgrading from the QS dining plan to the standard dining plan added something like $340 to the original reservation at POP.

The prices have changed in the last 24 hours. CBR no longer shows standard room availability, whereas they had it yesterday. Yesterday, a 6 night stay for 3 "adults" at CBR in standard rooms with free dining and 6 park days was $2491...today it's $2946 due to only pirate room availability.

Yes upgrading to the DDP for us added about almost 600.00 to our stay at POP. I guess when pricing I was looking at our Preferred Pool vs. a Water view at CBR. Trying to keep apples to apples. But standard would be cheaper.

Thank you all sooo much for your input! We are booked at Pop with Deluxe Dining and would be upgrading to a standard room at CBR, that is why the difference is so small. Before i made up my mind, the standard room was gone, but things keep coming available so with all of your input i have decided that if the standard room becomes available again im going to snag it, honestly the number one thing that is selling me is the fact that the beds are queen at CBR and full at Pop haha :thanks:
