I'm sending another vote for CBR
I'm not sure when your going, but CBR should be unveiling their new pool mid-September... we're thinking of returning this winter just for that alone!
CBR is by far our favorite moderate:
1) Rooms: While the decor is slightly outdated, I still consider it to be in good shape! It has a very relaxing feel and similar to any hotel you'd find in the Carribbean. The rooms are the largest of any moderate (340sqft) and are actually the same size of what you'd find at WL and 4sqft smaller than a room at AKL. The beds were comfortable and higher then most Disney resort beds which we liked.
2) Layout: While CBR is a fairly large resort, I rank it as the "best" in regards to its overall layout amoungst the moderates; there really "isn't" a bad section in regards to access to a quiet pool, main building, and main pool. I would agree that some villages (Trinidad South and Barbados) are slightly off the beaten path, but I consider it no different than some buildings at POR and the Ranchos section of CSR. CBR's advantage? Internal bus...
We personally love the idea of "villages" and while you can find this at CSR and POR... we think CBR perfects it. Each village has there own quiet pool, beach area, and personal bus stop. Yes, that does mean that you have multiple stops once you get on the bus, but you'll find that at any moderate and most deluxes. Having our own village was like having our own resort. It meant we never really had to "leave" unless we wanted to use the food court or main pool. It was so nice to walk out our room and have access to a pool, beach, and bus stop only steps away.
3) Food Court: We consider CBR to have by far the best food court on property. Everything from the theming to design is ideal to us. We personally love the selections at each station and felt there was a little bit of something for everyones taste. We never had a hard time finding a table and we liked how it didn't have a "cafeteria" feel like other food courts (especially at the values).
Our favorite sections are Jamaica and Aruba and the walk across Parrot Cay to the main pool/building from our rooms was anywhere from 4-7mins depending on our room location.
We would easily pick CBR over Pop anyday... but I'd also consider ASmu if your looking for a change. We were very happy their in Sept after a disapointing stay at Pop in January.
