In our stay, Allstar music and sports are about 50-60 cheaper than pop. We are trying to watch money. Is pop worth the extra? We are going w 2 kids 6 & 3.

I should also say that we'll be driving, so we'll drive to that parks. We are the bus:) We did that last time and it went fine.

I am partial to POP for the busses and the food court. There are some great choices at the POP food court not available at the All Stars. Another added bonus if you haven't seen AOA yet, is that you can easily explore the new resort by crossing over a footbridge to the neighboring resort. You will have access to the new AOA food court as well for some variety of choice!

Another pro for POP versus All Stars is the age of the property. POP is several years younger than the All Stars which shows in some of the dated decor and run down lobby.

I personally prefer POP for location/ease to parks. But 60.00 bucks is 60.00 bucks.

We have stayed at Pop, Movies, and Sports. The theming of Pop is amazing. It's great to explore. However, Pop is larger. My family's (DH, me, DD6, DS3) favorite is Sports. It's smaller and less crowded. It is the first resort to be dropped off and picked up when the buses share. They don't share all the time. I think your family would enjoy any of them!

All Stars all the way!!! The rooms are great, the food courts are just like Pop's, so the only difference I had seen was the ice cream area.

Never again will we stay at POP.......we have the 3 strikes you're out rule & POP went over it in December!!

Also, the All Stars DO NOT always share buses. That's something that always gets stirred up. In all our stays at the AS resorts we have maybe shared buses with the other resorts 1-2 times & that was in the middle of the day & we go all different times of the year.

Pop's buses were horrible, the wait time coming back from DHS was over 1/2 hour just waiting for a bus to come get us in the pouring rain.

I've stayed onsite over 25 times at all levels. Like to stay value when it's a short trip. Yes.....I did complain to Disney & I got a reply discussing all my issues at POP, my personal treatment by the staff at the check in desk, the crappy room location - not what I paid extra $$$ for, the buses, etc. And I did personally speak to a representative from WDW and discussed all my issues and was told that they would be passed along. Hopefully the supervisor got a really stern talking to.

Whatever resort you do end up choosing, you'll be at Disney. So relax & enjoy. It took me quite awhile my first day to settle down after the bad start........but eventually the Disney Magic returned!!

I'd chose the lower price, though -unless it's changed- the food court at POP is better, IMO.

Have fun!

:)

I've stayed at POP and the All Stars multiple times. I much prefer the All Stars. The bad rap that the All Stars gets really, really bugs me.

A few things to know....
All Star buses are RARELY shared.
Each resort is much smaller than POP....ie: approx 2000 rooms VS 3000 rooms at POP.
All Stars are sister properties and when you stay at one you full access to all 3...that means more pools and food courts.
The All Stars have been reno'd and have beautiful mature landscape.
POP, because of size, is very crowded and much louder.

On the bus topic....POP is the only resort that we have ever stayed at that we had to wait for a 2nd or 3rd bus. They may have dedicated bus service but it was always packed and very often you have to wait for another bus.

I'm not a POP hater and at some point I will stay there again but I if it were me I would not spend the extra $60 just on the resort unless I really wanted to be there over others.

I stayed at both Pop and All Star Movies this past Fall. First time at the value resorts. Both resorts had similar accommodations. Both resorts had similar decorations and level of landscaping outside. The bus service to ASMo was to that resort only, at the time I stayed there. However, if you noticed an All Star Music bus leaving the parks, you could take that and walk a very short distance to All Star Movies. I did this one night, and I think almost everyone who got off the bus at ASMu walked over to ASMo.

Pop differed from ASMo with quite a bit larger gift shop with many more selections. Same could be said for Pop's food court which had more food choices, and an espresso machine (important to me, maybe not to you). Also, from Pop I could cross the bridge and go to AoA's food court, where I had some marvelous food choices available no where else. Walking around AoA was an absolute thrill, and you could see the kids and parents were loving every inch of the new property. At night it was nice (but a tad cool in Nov.) to walk along the lake at Pop and look out to AoA across the lake. All Star Movies had no water feature. Not sure if any All Star resort had one.

I had a fine stay at each resort. If it's about a real tight budget, I'd choose All Stars and you would have the same great time as Pop. If you want an enhanced resort for the items I listed above, I'd choose Pop.

AS is smaller which means it's easier/faster to navigate. And although the food court may be smaller, we didn't think it lacked variety. I would say if money is a concern then definitely go with AS.

We have stayed @ Sports and Pop once each and we are going back to Sports @ the end of Feb.It was less crowded, shorter walk to the food court/lobby and the only bad bus experience we had was coming from Downtown.

I've never stay at the All Stars mainly because the 3 resorts share a bus, so for me the extra money each night would be worth it.. We liked Pop because they had their own bus. Have you looked into the prices at AoA? They also have their own bus and it was a great resort!

It is such a myth about the buses always sharing at AS resorts........ they don't!!! We have stayed so, so many times at the AS resorts since they first opened & the ONLY time they have shared has been during the afternoons when there's not much people traffic & then that was in the Spring. We stay all throughout the year onsite.

Now POP's buses have been horrible and one of the things I complained about to CM especially coming back from the parks. The mornings are rough too with waiting 2 or 3 buses before you can actually get on one to a park because POP is so much larger than the AS resorts.

Good luck whichever resort you choose.....I'm sure it will be a magical time!
